Chapter 47: Teased A Kiss

Narrator's POV

Spring seemed to pass slowly for Lauren. She missed Camila but could not see her. She had told Camila that she would not give her things, especially luxury things. She also would not seduce Camila, which meant she could not see Camila because she could not help not seducing Camila when Camila was around. Lauren thought Camila should not blame her for that because Camila was the one who seduced her first. Camila seduced Lauren even when Camila did nothing and just existed around her. This spring, Lauren could not sit still when she heard from Normani that Camila was seeing a guy who was a friend of Sasha.

In Dinah's opinion, Lauren should let Camila live her life since Camila was only twenty-three. Dinah believed if Camila was truly Lauren's mate or Luna, Camila would not end up with anyone but Lauren. Camila could date anyone, but she would come back to Lauren in the end. Dinah thought it was fair for both of them. Camila could live her life, experience dating more, and not have to deal with Lauren, who was still with Alexa. Lauren also could save her time convincing stubborn Camila and use her time to end things with Alexa.

Normani knew Camila well enough. Camila did not reject Lauren just because of Alexa. Camila also did not believe that she was Lauren's Luna or true mate. She also rejected the idea of having relationships with other beings. Although her mother agreed that Camila had a relationship with a Hybrid, Camila chose to stay away from being in a relationship with other beings, even the Hybrid ones. Camila did not hate other beings. She was just a simple human being who did not want to be involved in something complicated. She chose to stay away. Those were the reasons she closed herself to Lauren, which made her in denial of everything she felt.

Lauren definitely knew how the situation was. She could have just made Camila hers under the full moon night, but she did not do it. She wanted Camila to understand and truly accept her before that happened. On the other hand, she could not leave Alexa yet. She still had to keep this unusual casual relationship with Alexa. There were consequences if she left Alexa now, her plan would fail and Camila would be in danger.

Dinah and Normani were not wrong about it. They both had their points. The only difference was that Dinah believed true destined mates would end up together regardless of what being. Whereas Normani believed that it only happened if they were both werewolves. It would be different if one of them were not a werewolf. In this case, it was Camila. Whatever their opinions on this matter were, Lauren was the one who had to decide what to do next. There were things she had to consider that slowed her down from having Camila by her side.

On the other side, Camila enjoyed her spring like a spring breeze. It was peaceful since Lauren did not show up. Lauren did not call her or send her long messages anymore, but she still sent Camila a love emoji once a week or whenever she missed Camila. Camila was unbothered by that because she could just ignore those messages. Although Lauren would cross Camila's mind occasionally, she didn't think of Lauren often because she was busy at work.

Camila could catch up with the pace at work now, even though she still had things to learn. She could cooperate with Sahsa well. Camila also started hiking again. Sometimes, she went alone, sometimes she went with Normani. Camila was not only busy at work. She also started dating someone. It started one morning, Camila woke up and thought that she had to put herself out there and experience dating more. She called Sasha telling her that she was ready to meet someone now. Sasha introduced Camila to her friend, who had his eyes on Camila when he met Camila when she was having lunch with Sasha one afternoon.

The guy named Nicholas was also a human being, and he was also a good-looking guy. It made Camila want to try. Sasha told Camila that Nicholas was a nice guy. Camila had gone on a date with him several times since the beginning of May. She found Nicholas to be a respectful guy and indeed a nice guy. She was thinking of taking things a bit further. They had shared kisses, but they had not shared intimacy in bed. They probably would do it before summer came. Camila seemed to enjoy her first real date. She called it her first date since she didn't see her date with Timothée as a real date, nor her days spent with Lauren at Lauren's place last year.
