In all honesty, you weren't  the most innocent of individuals. You'd been arrested for a few minor crimes; theft, breaking and entering. Nothing major. But, yet here you were again, sitting in that dingy interrogation room in the NYPD police station. Looking at your reflection in the one way glass, you wondered how much time would have to go by until the run of the mill mall cop came in to question you.

The florescent lights flickered every so often above you while you picked at the loose string on your sleeve. You sighed and started tapping your hands against the table to the beat "Seven Nation Army", getting a little too bored for your liking.

Almost on cue, the door swung open to reveal your interrogator. It was an older cop who had obviously seen a few years on the job. He had gray hairs starting to infiltrate what seemed to be a dull brown head of hair. The cop sat down with a sigh, and the pale lighting highlighted the bags under his eyes. You slouched back in your chair, thinking of anything else you could be doing right now.

"So, Y/N Y/L/N," the officer placed reading glasses on the bridge of his nose while thumbing through your file. Which, honestly, was starting to aide on the side of large. "You have quite the record here." You chuckled at his exasperated tone.

"Yeah, you gotta admit, there are some pretty great stories in there. Did you see the one where I stole one of the ribs from the dinosaur at the Natural History Museum?" While you were smirking at the memory, the cop just looked out of patience.

"Y/N, while everyone here at the station loves your monthly visits, you gotta cut this out. You could still have a promising life ahead of you, why throw that away for some petty crime?" The officer seemed to really want an answer, but you didn't have one.

"I guess this is just too much fun," you reply with a sarcastic tone. The officer rolled his eyes and stood up again.

"I'll send someone in to take you to a holding cell until the bail is paid," the cop said while walking out the door. A sigh escaped your lungs. You'd gotten used to paying your way out of the police station, and while the fortune your parents left you was helping, it was running thin.

"Looks like you won't be able to pay your way out next time," an unfamiliar voice caused you to snap your head up. A well dressed man stood near the door with jet black hair and pale skin. He defiantly didn't look like a cop.

"Who are you?" you snap at the stranger. He smirks and walks closer to you.

"Someone who has taken interest in you," he replied coolly.

"Not exactly answering my question, but how'd you even get in here?" you asked, getting a bit on edge as he walked closer to you.

"I have my ways, mortal. Some of  you on this God forsaken planet actually show promise." What was wrong with this guy? He was right next to you now. "Despite what others may think, you my dear, are part of a better future," he took your hand and kissed it, as a shudder ran down your spine. "Now, I am offering you a way out of this..." he looked around, seeming almost disgusted, "place. As long as you do something for me in return. You do want to get out of here, don't you?" he asked almost hypnotically.

You looked him up and down subtly, still wanting to know who the hell this guy was. But, you did want to get out of there, and if you didn't have to pay for it, that was fine by you. "I do," you replied slowly after a few moments. His smirk grew and, since his hand still grasped yours, he pulled you to your feet. Your chest was almost touching his, which created a void of thought in your mind. "What did you have in mind as a price for helping me?" you asked, gaining some of your composure again.

The man looked almost entertained, or at least in the anticipation of entertainment, and before you knew it, the both of you were visibly fading. You looked around quickly, and you were forming again a few blocks away from the police station, outside.

Your gaze trailed back to the mystery man, seeing the content look on his face. "All I ask is your help. I believe you and I will make an effective team."

"Who are you, exactly?" you asked again. The mystery man paused, smirking despite the intent look in his eyes.

"Loki," he said with the utmost confidence. "Shall we?" he asked, an arm extended towards you. It was almost reading the yes on your mind.
