The fight itself was a hyper speed blur. Aliens, telekinesis, Peter showing up and continuing his pattern of getting involved with any fight he could. And all of it to get to the stone around your boyfriend's neck. The alien Tony compared to Squidward was halfway successful in retrieving the stone, which led you into your current situation.
When Peter and Stephen were being beamed up, with your boyfriend incapacitated, you made a rash decision that you knew would piss your brother off. You focused on the flying ship as it started to leave earth's atmosphere, and used your suit to teleport yourself onto the ship. You hoped and prayed you would end up somewhere discrete once you were up there.
You stumbled in the dark alien vessel, your hands finding a wall to stabilize you. Your eyes quickly scanned your surroundings, taking in the structure of the ship, and feeling relief that you were high up and hidden for the most part. Based off the coms in all of your suits, you heard Tony heading toward the ship as well to save Peter who was clinging to the outside of it. But then, your attention was occupied with the condescending Squidward alien parking your boyfriend about fifty feet below you.
You crouched at the edge, having a perfect vantage point of your boyfriend starting to wake up, and tried to ignore your nervously shaking hands. Accompanying that was the sneaking feeling that you were in over your head. The situation escalated so quickly, you barely had time to think through your spinning head. You started to gnaw on your lip when the alien, or Ebony Maw as he called himself, surrounded Stephen with dozens of what looked like glass needles.
"Y/N!?" you heard someone whisper yell. Whipping around, you saw Tony with a surprised a pissed expression. You merely sighed, not in the right head space to argue why you were here. "What the hell are-"
"Fate of the universe, Tony! Of course I'm going to help," you said quickly and breathlessly. He gave you a stern look, like he wanted to yell at you, but you could tell he was grateful you were here. You hoped, anyway. Even if he was going to, Stephen's Cloak of Levitation appeared behind Tony and scared the hell out of him.
"You are one loyal piece of outerwear..." he muttered.
"Speaking of loyalty..." a different voice said nervously, and your and Tony's attention was pulled to none other than Peter lowering down on a web. He quickly hopped down and let his mask reveal his face before Tony completely blew up. "Okay, I know what you're gonna say-"
"I told you to go home!" Tony whisper yelled.
"I was gonna go home, but it was such a long way down and this suit is crazy intuitive, by the way. So it's sort of your fault-" Peter started to explain, but he didn't get far into that argument.
"What did you just say?" Tony said with a rising temper. You rolled your eyes at their fruitless argument, and turned to focus on your boyfriend.
Your stomach twisted as more glass needles punctured his skin. Racking your brain, different thoughts and possibilities sped through your mind, and the father and son arguing behind you didn't help. Your bottom lip was being nervously gnawed between your teeth as time was starting to feel sparse. You may have numbers (in theory) on your side, but you were at a loss due to the foreign ship and powerful abilities of Ebony Maw.
An idea was starting to take form once you tasted blood from your lip. It was a risky idea, probably a stupid one, but it was the only one you had.
You activated the built in helmet in your suit, and teleported right behind Ebony Maw before Tony or Peter could comment or interfere. He noticed you instantly, no surprise there, and sent chunks of metal hurdling towards you. You did your best to dodge them, and grabbed onto his arm, ignoring a stinging in your cheek where your helmet absorbed a hunk of metal and most likely left a bruise.
Taking a breath, you tried to calm your nerves about your reckless plan, but your gaze shifted and met Stephen's. He was in an unimaginable pain, but you could still see the worry in his eyes. You weren't able to for long though.
Very quickly and hopefully, you teleported out into space and almost instantly back inside the ship. Despite it only being a second, the thought of being out in open space was enough to send a chill through you. The sound of Stephen clattering to the ground occupied your attention. With Ebony Maw dead, he was no longer in imminent danger.
You jogged to him to help him up, and Peter and Tony joined you. "That was awesome Y/N!" Peter said excitedly as your eyes stayed worriedly trained on Stephen leaning against you.
"It was stupid," Tony added, until you shot him a look, "but necessary."
"You shouldn't have done that Y/N," your boyfriend said quietly but unconvincingly.
"That was an odd way of saying thank you," you grinned despite the situation as he recovered enough to stand on his own. He chuckled ironically and wrapped his arms around you in loving hug.
"Thank you," he whispered in your ear. It was a lovely moment, until you were painfully reminded that your brother was standing ten feet away from you.
"Oh, don't EVEN tell me..." Tony started with disbelief layered in his voice. You two broke the hug and you nervously looked to your brother. "This guy?! You're dating this guy?! The biggest douche on planet earth?!" he shouted.
"Not too long ago, you held that title." You wished you didn't say the first thing that popped into your head.
"NOT HELPING YOUR CASE Y/N!" he yelled in frustration.
"We have a bigger problem right now!" you matched his volume and returned his intensely pissed stare.
"She's right. I think the fate of half the people in the universe outweighs a relationship you're a little bothered by," Stephen added calmly. Tony's brows shot up in shock at the doctor's comment.
"A little bothered by? I'm pissed about this. The reason my little sister is here was to save your dumbass! You dragged her into this, and I could throw a very pissed punch through your jaw right now!" What started out as scary calm quickly returned to shouting.
"Like you've never endangered her life?" Stephen's voice started to rise and he stepped towards your brother, getting protective. You were only getting impatient.
"Alright enough! God, how many arguments between you two am I going to have to break up? I chose to come up on this death wheel, I chose to put myself in harms way for what I love, and I'm choosing to be with him," you said with every ounce of determination you had. There was a silent argument happening between you and Tony at that point as you glared at each other. But you weren't backing down.
After a minute of silence, Tony sighed and looked back between you and Stephen. "Fine. I'm not happy about this, but fine." That was the best you could've hoped for from him to be honest. He wandered toward the ship's controls, and you chuckled at Peter giving you an excited thumbs up.
Suddenly, you felt Stephen's hand on your waist as he spun you toward him, and greeted your lips with his. You smiled through the kiss and felt yourself finally able to relax in the last hour.
"If I see you guys kissing, I blast his foot clean off!" Tony shouted over his shoulder, and you begrudgingly separated from Stephen.
"I see a fiery temper runs in the family," Stephen teased, earning a punch in the arm from you.
