Chapter 9

"This next song goes out to the couples. This is our cover of the song "Angel" by X Japan" said the singer through the microphone. That's a slow song. This is it. You took a deep breath, "Since we both don't know how to slow dance, this is how I see people do it all the time" you told him as you got closer to him and tried to mimic a typical slow dancing posture. This felt awkward. Was this right? He saw you looked confused, "Here how about this way" Hyde said as he fixed the posture, making things feel a little more natural. Putting his hands around your waist, so you could rest yours on his arms. That was a lot better. The melody of the piano started to play and you couldn't help but look up at him.

"Where do we go?" I asked myself, I asked my shadow

Twilight's still throwing the silhouette ahead

The edge of the night drapes the shade in New York City

If I could fly from skyscrapers, I'd be flying to you"

The two of you started swaying to the soft melody. Hyde took off his mask, then yours and put them on the ground not too far away from the two of you. He put his forehead against yours and started singing the song:

If there's a tomorrow, I'll do the same"

You felt butterflies in your stomach,from getting nervous. But this was too wholesome of a moment to screw up. You kept your eyes on him and focused on his voice singing to you.

Tears from the prayer have a taste of Bloody Mary

Love from angels

His voice was so soft and gentle in your ears. It made you want to cry. He was singing this for you and no one else. The moment was certainly changing. You felt something different in this moment. Was it love? Is this how it felt? Even if this all happened so quickly, this had to be what you were feeling. He genuinely was such a sweet person. He began to stroke your cheek with his hand and continued singing to you:

"Baby, you'll be loved

The way you need to be

The way you deserve to be"

The two of you locked eyes, looking at each other. This was it. This magical moment. You felt it. Hyde moved one of his hands up to your chin to hold your face steady as he leaned down to kiss you on your lips.

Is it destiny that we bleed ourselves for love?

Making me feel like the world's sucking my blood"

This was exactly how you imagined it would be. But it felt like much more. His kiss was soft and delicate, like if you had put a rose petal up to your lips. You were completely entranced in this moment. Hyde pulled you close to him so your head was now resting on his chest as the rest of the song played. You felt his arms wrapped around you, keeping you close to him. Enough to hear his heart beating. So you hugged him in return, enjoying the bliss of what just happened.

"Where do we go?" I asked myself, I asked my shadow

Hyde's POV

Nothing could've made this moment more sweeter than it already is. However, there was something else I felt. Whenever I thought of her, not only did I want to be with her more, but I wanted to taste her blood again. But how could I bite her after kissing her? It felt oddly wrong, but right at the same time. Was I supposed to feel this way? If she doesn't remember, that won't hurt her will it?

"Look at me" I beckoned her to lift her head so I could see her eyes. Just a little hazy spell and a quick bit. Nothing more. She did as I requested. "You're so beautiful, you know" I told her genuinely. She really was. I moved some strands of hair from her face, as I locked eyes with her. " And you're really handsome" ,she said with a blush. It made me smile. I was happy to receive such a compliment from her. I knew she meant it. She was finally beginning to relax around me. Even after all of this happening so quickly. Even too quickly for me as well. I put her under a hazy spell. She would fall asleep for a few minutes. She won't remember or feel anything. The lighting was dim, nobody would see or pay much attention. I quickly found a place on her neck to sink my fangs into as I held her close to me. I thought I was going to be quick, but it took much longer. It tasted better than before. I couldn't stop myself. Until, she started to snap out of it. Those few minutes under my spell passed quickly. I made sure to wipe any blood off my face and off her shoulder. She should be okay. I frowned for a second looking at the place I just bit her. What was I feeling so bad about it. "H-Hyde? Is everything okay?"she asked, sounding like she was half asleep. I looked at her, "Yea. Don't worry. You just...fell asleep. Maybe cuddling makes you sleepy", I tried to convince her. "I guess so. I've never done any of this before" she said, seeming to take my explanation. I felt a little bad lying to her. "How about we go get something to drink. Not alcohol, but maybe some ramune" I suggested to her. It would be good for her to drink something at least. She nods, "Sounds good to me. I love ramune" she smiles, perking up more.

Your POV

I'm not sure exactly what happened while I was cuddling with Hyde. Maybe cuddling does make me sleepy. All I know is that it felt amazing to be in someone's arms for once. To have that special embrace and a kiss. The two of you put your masks back on. "Can we hold hands?" you asked him. You were sure he wouldn't mind if you just went for it, but you wanted to ask."I'd love to" , he replied, taking your hand. You could get used to this. How have you never gone out with a guy before this? Surely Yume would say something like, 'because you were too busy drooling over Hyde to actually look at another guy' it made you giggle out loud. But it was kind of true. "What's so funny?" Hyde asks, wanting to know what made you giggle. "Nothing. Just thinking. I've never given a man a chance before you for reasons" you told him. He became curious, "Reasons. What kind of reasons?" he asks. Should you tell him? It's embarrassing to actually tell the celebrity you have a crush on, the truth. Though not like it'd surprise him much. "Because I was too busy listening to L'Arc-en-Ceil. Yume would tell you that I wouldn't dare to look at another guy besides you". You stopped walking so you could cover your face with both of your hands in embarrassment, despite your face already being covered by a mask. Now he knows. So embarrassing. You heard him chuckle and he moved both of your hands away from your face, "Don't be embarrassed. I'd say you made the right choice, don't you think" he said. When he puts it that way. It was worth biding your time to wait. Who knew, Hyde would be your first date.
