You kept reading. Slowly more similarities kept coming out on the page. Looks like the rumor surrounding this book was true. Though what made the author write this? Where was he now? "Anyone tried to look up the author yet? Maybe we can ask him directly instead of trying to find pieces from the story" you suggest out loud. Though, you wouldn't mind continuing. It was interesting to read from a vampire's point of view. "I'll see if I can find anything on my phone" Tetsuya had volunteered. You imagined it wouldn't be easy to find a vampire but you never know. You kept reading while you waited to see if Tetsuya could find anything. No surprise, the name of the author was just a pen name and no other information could be found. Bummer. Maybe a way to contact him will pop up. You hoped so.

After taking a long break to get up and stretch your legs, you wanted to dive back into the book. In this next chapter, the vampire was about to confess his feelings for the girl he likes but another local vampire is preventing him from doing so, claiming that they weren't meant to be together and she belongs him instead:

"I've heard of this vampire before. But to show up out of the blue to take the girl I wanted away from me, I don't think so. 'You can't change the way fate operates. She's my partner by blood and you will watch her fall for me, leaving you alone in the dust', the other vampire threatened me. I was afraid to admit he could be right. Vampires only get one partner at a time. The bond is practically unbreakable. Still, I can't lose her in the end. There must be a way to make her stay with me"

Fastforwarding in the story:

"Tell me there's another way I can change her fate. She can't be with him. She was mine first", I pleaded with an elderly vampire of my community. He surely was old enough to know every scenario but even he was unsure. 'I've only witnessed one account of something similar like this. Of course at the time, there wasn't another vampire involved. A vampire fell in love with a girl he wasn't destined to, but by creating a sacred ritual, he was able to forge that bond in the end" the elder explained. If I knew what the ritual was, I could do it. But how do I break that bond she's already in with the other vampire? 'What did the vampire do?', I questioned the elder. 'Under the full moon, the vampire and girl drank each other's blood so each of them had a piece of each other inside them', the elder explained. Drinking blood wasn't a problem for me, but she's not even aware I'm a vampire or the other guy is either. Would she love me enough to drink blood for me?"

This ritual was an interesting addition to the story. Would you drink blood for Hyde if you had to? Sure it wouldn't be the best tasting drink in the world, but you loved him more than the blood in your veins. That was for sure. "This is one damn good book. Keep going, I want to hear him get his girl", Yume commented fully into the story like you were. You had to find what happened next.

" 'To be forward with you sir, is there any way to break a bond? Or am I trying to aim for a hopeless solution?', I asked the elder. Perhaps combining the ritual while I broke the bond, will be the answer. I didn't get an answer for a few minutes. I don't blame the elder for not wanting to share anything. We vampires should be helping each other, not hurting. 'As for documentations, there are none. But there is one sure way. A thing that affects all living things' he said to me very carefully. I nodded, willing to take the risks. The elder sighed, 'Only death can sever a connection. If either vampire or partner dies, it'll break. If you plan to kill another and perform the ritual, then you are on your own. You must take responsibility for it, whether it succeeds or fails', the elder warned me."

You didn't like the sound of that at all. Though it might be the only solid solution. But you didn't want Hyde to kill Adiren or worse, what if Adrien ends up killing Hyde?! By evidence of the story, it might just have to happen that way. Even so, you must have hope that someone finds some way with no killing involved.

By the end of the story, the vampire had killed the other. Though it was a very brutal bloodfest, his love for her gave him what he needed to win. Cheesy as it all sounds, love truly is powerful. They performed the ritual and it was a success, by drinking each other's blood, the connection was made. There was a note on the last page:

"Whatever you have to do, do it for the one you cherish"

It was like he was speaking to both you and Hyde. Like it or not, the thought of Adrien dead might just have to be a reality, No matter how much you hate the idea. You'll pray that Hyde and Adriens' meeting would end in good news and not with the time and place for a bloody battle. "I really like the book a lot, regardless of all the vampire stuff in there. The romance was good and the drama kept me reading" you told Hyde your opinion. You were happy it ended up being really good. "I wasn't expecting the story to turn into what it did. There's a lot to take from it" Hyde replied. The twist and turns were the best part. But you were happy he seemed to like it. You smiled at his response. "Maybe we should do this again, but not with such a thick novel" Hyde suggested. That would probably be best. " No one said we had to read a book all in one day. This was different, we had an agenda" you explained. Reading the book practically took most of the day. It was quite the novel to be honest. You don't really sit down to read books like that very often. It made it more enjoyable to read especially in a group and you knew others were listening.
