I woke up about an hour later, feeling a little better. I checked my phone and saw a text from (y

). She said that she'd be done with (work\school) soon. Perfect timing. I noticed that Yukihiro and Kazuma's friend had returned by the end of my nap. "If you guys need anything else, just text me" he told Yukihiro before he left. I got up from the sofa to talk with Yukihiro. "No problems renting a car?" I asked him. Yukihiro shook his head, "No. So far everything is going well. How about (y

)? Hear from her yet?" he replied. "She said she'll be home soon", I told him. I wanted to go over to see her now. Though soon is a very vague term. It could be anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours at best. "I see. Tetsuya and Ken are most likely taking a nap right now. We can go check things out with just the two of us, if you want", Yukihiro suggested. I perked up at the suggestion, he most likely knew what I was thinking of. "If you're okay driving. Let's go" I told him. "I'll adjust. It can't be that hard" he reassured me.

)'s apartment. "I'll stay here and wait. Go ahead and go see her" Yukihiro told me. I nodded and didn't waste another moment. According to the address, she lives in apartment number (three favorite numbers). I took the elevator up and found the door with the same number. I knocked a few times and waited for someone to either reply or open the door. I was a little nervous. What if this is the wrong door? Or was this just excitement? I flinched as the handle moved and the door opened. It was Yume. (Y\N) must not be home yet. Yume looked at me waiting for me to say something. I remembered that she never actually got to see my face so she didn't know who I was at the moment. "Hi Yume. Is (y

) home? I wanted to surprise her, so I decided to fly out to America" I told her. Yume's eyes widened, "Hideto!? Is that you? You really flew out here!?" she said completely in shock. Yume invited me inside and closed the door behind me. "Oh my gosh! This is mind blowing. (Y\N) gonna lose her mind when she gets home" she said, as her shock turned into excitement. Yume gave me a quick hug, "She should be home in a little bit. Please make yourself at home" she told me politely. I looked around at the pictures on the wall. Of course, I noticed the L'Arc-en-Ciel poster. This must be (y

)'s. It made me smile. "I can't believe you two met at the concert. That's so wild. So Hideto, what's your favorite song? I'm curious" Yume asked me. She was energetic compared to (y

). Though, I'm not sure I have a favorite song that I've sung. They're all pretty fun to sing. "That's a hard question to answer. I like all the songs I sing", I replied. Then I realized I slipped up. Did she notice? "You sing? Are you a singer, Hideto? (Y\N) never told me that", Yume did notice but didn't put two and two together. I wanted to tell her who I was, it would make things easier for (y

). "I do sing in a band", I told her. She smiled, "That's so cool. What's the band called? I wanna hear your music" she asked eagerly. If there's any chance to tell Yume, it's now. I just pray she doesn't react in a way where Yukihiro has to erase her memories.

"This one", I said, placing my finger on the L'Arc-en-Ciel poster. I looked at her to see what she would say. Yume seemed confused. She looked at the poster then back to me repeatedly. In her facial expression I could see that something clicked, "Wait a minute. You're not telling me that you're THE Hyde. There's no way" Yume was in a bit of denial. I didn't blame her. It did sound impossible. Yume came a bit closer to me and examined my face. She was trying to make a definite connection. "Oh my Gawd!!" she exclaimed, coming to a realization, "But I have to make double sure you are him. Looks alone aren't enough proof. So sing something for me" she requested. I guess it was only logical she'd want to hear my voice. Makes sense. "Choose any song and I will sing it" I offered her. By having her choose, it should prove it's really me by my knowledge of knowing any song. "Good idea. How about 'Kazu no Yukue'?", Yume chose the song for me. I nodded and closed my eyes for a second so that the lyrics and melody of the song could come to mind. It did take me a minute. I took a deep breathe:

I usually didn't feel so nervous singing in front of others, but perhaps since this was some sort of test that made me feel anxious. I waited for her response after I had stopped singing. I was about to say something but she beat me to it, "So this whole time, the festival and the airport, it was really you? So you really did meet at the concert and your name is really Hideto. ) say something? I would've kept the secret" Yume said to me, talking a bit too fast as she recalled moments. "Yes it was me. But don't blame (y

) for keeping this a secret. I knew she wanted to tell you. But it was up to the band's leader, and waiting for an appropriate time" I explained to her sincerely, telling her the truth. I could see she was thinking. She probably felt a little betrayed. Her facial expression softened after a moment, "I understand" she sighed " Being famous must be a pain in the a*s with all these secrets. Well better late than never" Yume made the decision to accept the facts on her own. I was relieved. I wouldn't have to erase her memories or have (y

) keep hiding me from her friend. "If you're here, does that mean the rest of L'Arc-en-Ceil is too?", Yume asked and seemed to brighten up. I nodded, "Yea. Yukihiro is waiting for me in the car. Ken and Tetsuya are at the hotel" I told her. It felt nice to not hide who I was from Yume.

"You think I can meet them too sometime?" she asked me. I don't see why not. Especially now that she knew. "Of course. I'll bring them over next time I come to visit" I smiled at her. I could tell Yume was holding in all the excitement of learning about everything. "I don't think I'll ever forget this! This might be the best day of my life! My best friend is dating Hyde! Holy sh*t! She's always had a thing for you, ya know. Luckily Ken is more my type" Yume told me, still excited and rambling a bit. I didn't mind. I was used to fans doing this sort of stuff all the time when talking to me. Thankfully, I know Yume will settle down after a while. "Don't tell Ken that. He can be a little full of himself if given the opportunity" I warned her. It wasn't all the time, Ken just liked attention. Though, I'm kind of curious to see how Ken would act around a lady. It certainly changed me, in a good way though.
