Chapter 46

Your POV

You finished your day and met back up with everyone. The moment you laid eyes on Hyde, you felt in your gut something was off. "How was everything? No Adrien?" you asked them. They all shook their heads, "Guess he was smart enough not to show himself when we're around" said Ken. If nothing happened with Adrien, then what could be bothering Hyde? Sure you can't read his mind, though it could just be nothing and maybe you're just the nervous one who was expecting something to happen. But that gut feeling when you saw him....can't be nothing. "I see. That's good then" you said before approaching Hyde, wanting to give him some affection. Being closer to him, made it more obvious that something was on his mind. He didn't greet you like he usually did. "Hyde, what's wrong?" you asked him. It was odd for him not to look at you right away but eventually he did. "It's nothing, my angel. I just hate that Adrien would do something so cowardly and torment you.....I just want him to leave you alone" he told you. You didn't know how much that bugged him, but it made sense. He just wanted to protect you.It wasn't fun to experience and you wished this whole thing could end quickly. Maybe Hyde wanted to catch Adrien and settle things finally. Surely this was frustrating to him. "I know. Me too, koala bear. But I have you and everyone else here with me. So try not to get too frustrated" you told him. He smiled "You're right. I'm sorry. If I'm worried, you'll worry about me. I don't want that" Hyde told you and finally gave you a forehead kiss.

"Anything fun going on tonight?", you asked the group after Hyde seemed to perk up a bit. "There's a concert going on at the park tonight. Maybe we can go check it out. It's a local band", Yume said, always the one to keep tabs on events. Sounds interesting, it would be nice to go walking around with everyone. "Which park? The one by the movie theater or the other one?" you asked her. Both would be good choices. "I think it was the other one. The park by the theaters is kinda creepy" Yume told you. Thank goodness.

The six of you passed the time and went out to dinner before going to the park to watch the concert. Apparently the local band was pretty popular, there were quite a bit of people here. But it wasn't too crowded. You looked around and saw a few food trucks and other little stalls.It'll probably get more lively as the night goes on. Surely this would be a fun time to enjoy with everyone. "Let's go find some seats. The band should be starting in a few minutes" Yume suggested, as she eagerly grabbed one of Ken's hands and led the way for the rest of us to follow. You were happy to see how comfortable and happy she was now. Even Ken wasn't as nervous as before. After Yume told you that Ken confessed his feelings for her, it all seemed to fall into place. You reached for Hyde's hand so you could hold it. He instantly intertwined his fingers with yours. You all managed to find some seats and sat down as a group. You talked to Yume for a little bit until the band began to play. The genre was (favorite genre of music). They were pretty good and you were enjoying the music. You looked at Hyde to see his reaction, but it looked like he wasn't paying much attention to the music. It was like he was on guard, looking for something. Did he sense something? Was he expecting Adrien to show up? You took a peek at the rest of the band. They all were relaxed and focused on the music. If no one else was concerned or on high alert, then why was Hyde?

Hyde needed to relax and stop thinking about things going wrong. Adrien wouldn't be ballsy enough to confront us without backup. Which you pray wouldn't happen. That would be very bad. You waited for a little bit before asking, "Let's go look around. Perhaps they have something sweet to eat" you told him, tugging on his sleeve so that he would pay attention to you. He did. "Okay, my angel. Anything you want" he smiled and followed you to the food trucks. You looked at the menus with him, trying to find anything sweet. "How about we share a crepe, koala bear?" you suggested, since the size of the crepes were pretty big and you wanted Hyde to focus on you instead of what was bugging him. "A crepe? What's that?" Hyde asked. You weren't surprised he didn't know what it was, so you explained it to him. "It's like a thin pancake that is folded with yummy things inside. There are different flavors like S'mores, banana and nutella, strawberry and chocolate. They're all so yummy. I know you'll like it" you tried to convince him. Hyde smiled seeing how much you adored the sweet dessert, "I see. Go ahead and pick whatever flavor you want then" he agreed. This was going to be so delicious. You decided to pick the (favorite crepe flavor) crepe. You and Hyde watched the cook make the crepe in front of you. It looked so easy, you should try making it sometime. You were soon given your crepe after a few minutes. You happily took the first bite. It was tasty. "This crepe is out of this world!" you exclaimed. Hyde chuckled, "It's that good, huh?" he asked. You nodded and offered him to take a bite next. You eagerly waited for Hyde's response as he took a bite of the crepe. "I didn't really know what to expect, but this is pretty good" Hyde seemed to enjoy the crepe. You were happy you got a positive response from him. The two of you enjoyed the crepe together. It was relieving to see him in a better mood. Hopefully, he'll feel a bit better now. If not, you'd want to really get to the bottom of what was on his mind. It had to be more than just being concerned Adrien could show up. There had to be something else.
