Ratok groaned as he woke. His body rocketed with unbearable pain. He openned his eyes to be greeted by the bright blinding light of the labratory overheads. He growled and closed them again.
"Well it's good to see you awake again big guy." Deon said placing his head over Ratoks face blocking the light.
"Wheres Ruma?" He grumbled.
"I sent her back to check on the boys. You only missed her by a little bit. She'll be thrilled to see you awake." He said still standing over him.
"Keep standing over me like that, and you might get kissed or choked."
"What's the deciding factor on the difference?"
"I haven't decided yet." Ratok adjusted on the medical bed.
"Looks like you really aren't in a position to threaten me."
Ratoks arm shot up and grabs Deon's jaw and pulled him centimeters from his face.
"Chicken!" Deon scretched
Ratok looked at him weirdly than let go. He saw Deon shiver a bit but pulled himself together.
"So, what happened?"
"When?"
"Since I've been out,"
"That's been quite a while."
Ratok huffed. "Okay. Than from the beginning.'
Deon sighed, "I was attacked by Bvlepio's pet Carma-"
"Damn"
"-Ruma killed her, you apparently killed Jospeh."
"I did,"
"Ruma attacked Vassenhilo over what he did to you"
"Oh."
"We are now two days out from leaving for the Gala."
"Is that all?"
"No, but thats all for now."
"Why?"
His question was answered as he felt Ruma wrap herself around him. Purring and rubbing her head into him.
"Ruma." He reached down to rub her back. She climbed yo and gently sat straddling him. "You weren't worried about me where you." He said weakly rolling his fingers over her.
Ruma let out rolls of tears, as she smiled softly, a huge weight of relief pulling off of her now that he was awake. They sat there for a moment letting Ratok wake up a bit more. Then they sat him up, moving the bed to help keep him propped up.
Just moving him, put Ratok out of Breath. "For fuck- this is horrific" he cursed as they moved him.
"What does it feel like?" Deon asked curiously
"They everything is on fire, and eating me alive." Ratok groaned.
"That does sound alot like what I was put through, Ruma do you think that he may have done the same to both of us?"
Ruma shook her head "You had liquids pour down your throat, Ratok was tired up to IVs and tubes, I think they wouldn have been different.."
Ratok settled now that he was moved, "I feel like a pile of burnt garbage, and you said everyone was heading to the Gala in a couple days?"
"Don't worry, my maeger, you are being brought with us."
Ratok looked at Ruma with a scowl, "I better be." Ruma stroked his arm, trying to calm him. He didn't need his blood pressure going up, not in the state he was currently in. "I have lost some fur." he said looking down at his arms.
Deon nodded, "You have lost alot, most of your fur is falling out or drastically thinning."
"Show me."
Deon walked up, and helped Ratok pull up his shirt to show his torso, were generally a thick layer of fur would have coated his abdomen. Now there was soft patched, of very little and frail hair.
"Why?" he asked.
"A side effect of whatever experiment Vassenhilo had done to you?" Ruma stated, "I am trying to figure out what he did, so I know what I'll have to do if issues start popping up."
Ratok nodded, he dropped his head back and looked at Ruma for a bit. "Did you really kill Carma?"
Ruma smirked, then let it slowly grow into a prideful grin.
"That's my girl."
