"Okay, slow down." Deon said helping Ratok from the moving chair to the bed.
Ratok snarled,"Tell me to slow down one more time, and I am going to make your head slow."
"Can't make something what is already is."
"Idiot."
"Yeah, I know." he said stuffing pillows behind his back. Ruma was out in the hall speaking with Vassenhilo. They talked, but it was very cold, and robotic to each other. Neither one of them bring up why Vassenhilo's hand was all wrapped up like a mummy.
Tyklyn sat up by the table in his mother's rom watching everything that was going on. Kaylo was also in the room, cowarding in the corner furthest away from Vassenhilo. It only took a few minutes before, Tyklyn got up and walked over to his brother.
"You know he isn't going to do anything to you right now? Mom is in the room, he wouldn't dare."
Kaylo trembled, "It's what he does when he knows she won't find out that scares me."
"What has he done?" Tyklyn looked back out at Vassenhilo, he knew the guy was sadistic from what he had helped him do, but for the most part the majority of subjects came in and spent the rest of their time in the quads, they never came out, or were experimented on, that was for the very very unlucky minority.
Kaylo shook his head, "No- I don't want to remember it hurt- it hurts."
Tyklyn did the only thing he could do for his brother, and sit in the way of Kaylo and the creature that terrified him to bits. Tyklyn angered, how could Ruma let this continue on. He looked back at his mother, being an obedient pet to that monster, did she even care what he had done to his siblings. His eyes moved over to Deon and Ratok. They were her focus, they seemed to be her only focus.
Tyklyn snarled then turned back and stewed in his anger.
Ruma stood out in the hall, she was doing her best to stay in her part that she was use to being. Though her mind had changed somethings of the past stayed. As Vassenhilo talked, she watched his hand move carefully he staying a good couple feet away from her at all times. Part of her enjoyed this, as she knew she had what was needed to keep her family safe, on the other hand she hated this, as she was being treated like a beast.
"I assume you will have all of them prepared to leave tomorrow?" Vassenhilo asked, looking down at Ruma.
She nodded.
"Good, your Maeger is going to have a long recovery time, or at least that is what I am expecting him to have."
Ruma twitched, but held herself together "What did you do to him?"
"Nothing of your concern." he said typing back into his notepad.
"Please, I need to know.
Vassenhilo was getting irritated, "Why do you think you need to know?"
"He is my Maeger, I deserve to know what happens to him. That's why I snapped, I was stressed, your making me stressed by not knowing." She pleaded with her eyes.
Vassenhilo blinked repeatedly, "I am stressing you?" he paused, "And if I don't tell you?"
"I won't help you anymore."
Vassenhilo made an angry, violent gargle he just stood there. "Is that a threat?"
Ruma shook her head, "No, threat, just a promise."
He turned his thoughts over in his mind. "I am attempting to change his genetic coding."
"Why?"
"To better pair with you, when we rebreed you."
Ruma took a breath, she partially believe him, but something else told her he was lying. "Is that what you did to my brude?"
"That wasn't part of the questions."
"Is it?"
"Yes. Happy now with your little answers?"
Ruma simply nodded.
"Good, now that we can get back on track with things. I will need you to pick up your work load again after we leave to keep most things on trek back her and with who we leave with. Can you do that?"
Ruma thought which was best for what she was wanting to do. She hadn't had a full plan thought out, and she hadn't told anyone yet. "Yes, I will."
"Good, you may go rest and get ready for the rest of the day.:" Vassenhilo walked off and down the elevator. Ruma watched as the floors dinged down. Now that she was helping him again, she really needed to figure out exactly how she was going to protect her own.
Ruma walked back into the room shutting the door.
"I have a plan- but there is nothing planned out yet." she said to Deon and Ratok as she walked over to them. The two males looked at her, waiting for what she was going to say. "Now that I am helping Vassenhilo again, my plan is too." something banged pulling her attention way from them. Tyklyn has slammed a chair into the table.
"Tyk? Is something wrong?"
He looked at her with an anger she hadn't seen in years. "Alot of things are wrong. Starting with you still being so giddy to be that monsters puppet. I get having to work for him if it kept you alive, but your his blind little work mouse. Doing whatever he wants. Your not who you use to be."
Ruma paused. She took a deep breath. "Your right I am not."
"What happened to the one who cared about her kids?"
"I still care Tyklyn, I never stopped."
He pointed to Kaylo, "where are his full siblings, why is he in the corner of the floor crying."
"I have already admitted my mistakes to Kaylo, for what I allowed to happen, I am trying to right things, and keep you all safe."
Tyklyn scoffed and stormed out of the room.
Kaylo stood up, "I will go talk to him" Kaylo signed and then ran out of the room behind him.
Ruma turned back to Ratok and Deon stunned.
She stared at them for a moment. "One second. I just need one second for nothing new to go wrong, why can't i have that?" :
