Almost the end

My friends, even Andrea, visited me in the hospital. They stayed for hours, and they even acted like everything was great; no one asked even one question about what happened.
They all said that they had to bring me back to the shore to look for help.

The party that Nathan planned—even the games—didn't push through. Nathan, Nicco, and Dinara were the ones who watched me when I got admitted. The others went back to the resort to rest, then Yoni arrived very early to substitute Dinara and also to bring clothes and food for everyone.

Dinara said that Deuce never left and that he's so eager to push Nicco out of the way just for him to see me, which is why they had to call for guard assistance just to keep the peace outside my room.

And that he's just outside, on the hallway's floor, waiting for me, and even fell asleep, still only wearing his pants and nothing else, barefoot.

They all suggested that he should go back to the resort, but he refused and stubbornly denied the offer. Even now that I am already released from the hospital, I am surrounded by friends that I haven't even looked around to see or at least have a glimpse of Deuce.

When we are already outside the hospital, there are two vans provided by the resort waiting for us. On the first van, I watched Dinara and Yoni already seated inside. Nathan was walking ahead of me, carrying some of my stuff, and assisting me. Nicco and Malik are behind me like guards, protecting me from the guy who's now following behind us.

Andrea, beside him, put a jacket around his shoulders, but he never gave her any attention. His eyes were caught on me, but he never did try to close our distance. I think he respects the warning against him and that maybe he also feels guilty now and embarrassed to face me.

Nicco urged me to go and sit inside, so I moved and turned my eyes away from Deuce. Nicco and Malik immediately followed and shut the door. Observing how my friends acted like I was fragile goods made me realize the impact of what happened on the yacht. It is indeed shitty and alarming.

I watched how the van, driving past the hospital and how Deuce just stood there without leaving my eyes.

Maybe Yoni caught me still staring at the hospital's entrance. I felt her hand on my lap, and she flashed me a little smile. They're talking about the plan as soon as we arrive at the resort: are we going to book a late dinner for all of us, or is it better to just go to the restaurant individually so I can choose who's allowed to join me at the table?

They can't decide if having Andrea or Deuce around is better or more comfortable for me. Nathan regretted bringing Andrea here. He feels that he is at fault as well, that he contributed somewhat to the problems, and that he neglected to even obtain my permission before adding Andrea or any new members to the group.

"Deuce will be riding the other van with our friends. Don't worry, he's still checked in at the resort, and, by the way, just say if you're not comfortable having him near you. We can request another room and get your things from his cabin." Dinara suddenly said that she caught the boys attention, like they just realized that Deuce and i share the same room just now.

"He's with Adita, Andrea, Lakshmi and Lia," Yoni whispered to me as if i am wondering if he's accompanied by Andrea alone.

"I'll call the agent and request for another room for you," Nathan said. Dinara turned her attention to me and waited for my opinion. Nicco and Malik were both agreeing to Nathan's plans.

I appreciated all of them, but seeing them defend me like I was some innocent little kid made me even more guilty. I don't want them to avoid their friend, Deuce. I don't want this incident to ruin their years-old friendships, and I also don't want him to feel isolated and alone.
