Confirmed
We tried to enjoy our late lunch as normally as possible. Enjoying the view of the shore and the hotel's amenities. Lakshmi estimated that the journey will only take minutes to hours to get here without a private vehicle, but Deuce is still not here yet. I wanted to talk to him so badly, so I waited, but until now he is still not here in the resort.
"Not everybody is going to like you even if you're a good person." Lia said. The group is now having a relaxing and slow day talking about life and work, sometimes jokes or technically they're making fun of Nicco.
"Or the other person is just bad. There's a problem with them and not on you so it's better to not please anyone but yourself," Adita added, they're talking about rude pax that they had encountered before in their flights.
"You could be the ripest, juiciest, most delicious peach on Earth, and that won't matter because some people just prefer apples and that's okay." Yoni added while she's busy with her fruit platter.
"Or you can be the sweetest peach on the tree but some people just don't like peaches," Nicco grinned.
"Shut up, Nicco!" Yoni hissed. Nicco laughed boyishly.
"And sometimes bad people will do wrong and there won't be a fair ending where things are cleared up especially if you're the good person. You always gonna step on toes to do the right thing most of the times while bad people just do whatever they please," Lakshmi.
"It's hard to make them understand with the explanations most of the times no matter if it's really necessary or life threatening,"
"Shit's hard sometimes at work, man." Nicco said.
"Perspectives are limited based on the person's experiences and knowledge or even their awareness about things here in the world. No amount of explaining will help if you are talking to a person that is bias and boxes himself towards their own lived experiences and beliefs. It is pointless to try to make them see your point especially when they are unwilling to listen and understand,"
"Everyone's life is just as complicated as everybody else's but being kind isn't expensive so i still don't understand why people refuse to do that,"
"Because they're assholes!"
Looking around the famous place made me think of how fast time actually passes. Last year, I was only a struggling girl who dreamed of a future where I could live and experience life, and now here I am with my friends talking about our life at work.
A year feels like an eternity as a kid, but it will only take one blink as an adult. Because of hectic work schedules and complicated adult problems the days get longer and the years get shorter.
I constantly check the time on my phone, and the later it gets, the more anxious I get to wait for him to get here.
The sky is growing darker as the sun begins to set. Everyone is occupied with their phones, attempting to call and message him, but his phone hasn't rung.
Everyone I spoke with in the lobby agreed that he ought to be here right now when I inquired about the typical commute from the hospital to the resort. Nobody was aware of his whereabouts, whether he was stranded or in need of assistance.
"Be honest, Lakshmi. Did he say anything, was he irritated, did he want to leave the island without us, or what? Did he even have his wallet and phone with him?"
"We drive past him when he's going down the street; he's not carrying anything, and I never saw him holding his phone. Deuce never mentioned his plans; he just wanted to be by himself, and I didn't know where he went, Av."
