"Guys the thing that Limbrey said I don't think she meant to let it slip. She said the key leads to the Cross of Santo Domingo" Pope tells all of us "Wait. Can I see that?" JJ asks him and pope gives him the key "Are we supposed to know what that is?" Sarah asks him "I'm guessing it's some sort of historical artifact of great importance" Pope says "Well according to the interwebs it was a gift from New Spain to the Spanish king" Kie says "New Spain? Is there an Old Spain?" JJ asks "Shit talk about over-gifting. Look at that thing." Kie says showing us a picture of a drawing of it "Looks like there's a person standing next to it." She says "So it's a giant-ass cross" I say "It was widely considered at the time to be the most extravagant tribute ever from the provinces. It was lost off the coast of Bermuda in 1829" Kie says "Did you just say Bermuda?" JJ asks her "Oh no. Not the triangle" John B says "It always leads back to the triangle dude. Like every single time something's weird it's Bermuda." JJ says "What does a key found above your mee-maw's pharmacy have to do with any of this?" Kie asks him "Yeah" Sarah agrees with her "Where do we come in?" Kie says "I don't know. That's a good question" Pope tells her as we pull into the nursing home. We all start to get out but pope stops us "Hey actually I think I'm gonna do this one by myself" Pope says "Are you sure?" Kie asks him "Yeah I can handle it. I don't really need you so..." Pope says looking straight at Kie. "Oh we're just all one big happy family today aren't we?" JJ says "Hey man pick you up in a bit" John B says to pope
Kie Sarah and I head into a store to getting a drink while JJ and John B stay inside the van.
"So elephant in the room what the fuck was that about with pope?" I ask her "Yeah what the hell happened to make y'alls relationships implode?" Sarah asks her "I told Pope I just wanted to be friends" Kie says "That's why he's acting all butthurt?" I ask her "Yeah." Kie nods "Your turn Stel" Sarah tells me "I don't know. He's mad about the way I told topper, he said I sounded embarrassed to say it. But I just didn't know how to put it after he literally just saved my life. I talked with JJ and he said he's on my side but i don't know we're just off right now" I tell them "Tell me about it. All of this crazy shit's happening and Pope's giving me the silent treatment for not being in love with him" Kie says "And we're the dramatic ones" I laugh "Sure" Kie says laughing as well
We get back to the nursing home and pope is outside waiting for us "There he is" JJ says Pope sighs while getting in the van. "So how'd it go?" John B asks him "Shit just got way more personal" Pope says
We head back to docks after pope filled us in. "I still can't believe that you're related to Denmark Tanny" John B says "Uh-huh." JJ nods "Are we in the presence of a royal?" John B asks "A king?" JJ asks with a British accent "We shall crown him. All hail the lord of Tannyhill! We're not worthy!" JJ says as we pretend to bow down "Everybody relax. Can we relax please?" Pope says "Relocate the Cat's Ass question mark?" Sarah asks "I'm with that" JJ says "How soon can we move in?" Kie asks him 'Cause I don't have a place to stay" JJ says "Me either. Bunk beds?" Kie asks JJ "Bunk beds. Cheers to that" JJ says "I just keep thinking about the letter, the one that Limbrey sent. It had the wheat symbol on it. That must mean it has something to do with the Royal Merchant." Pope tells us "Yeah. That's real fishy" I say "But if we find that cross we can split it like we were gonna split the gold" Pope says "Yeah. I'm with that" JJ says "And live happily ever after?" Limbrey asks walking towards us with her guard dog behind her "You assaulted my father." Pope was walking forward "Oh I didn't assault anybody" Limbrey says as the guy pushes pope back "He can identify the psycho from a mile away" Kie says "Why would my employee a... assault your father?That's absurd. Listen we can keep on negotiating, but the fact is that I want the key." Limbrey says and Pope tries to step forward again but the guy holds him back "And I won't stop until I have it. I don't have a choice which means you don't either." She says "It's Limbrey right? Is that right?" John b asks stepping forward "Yes" she says "Is this what you're looking for?" He asks holding up the key "Yes it is" Limbrey says smiling "Looking at the tide right now I'd say it's about 20 feet deep out there. So if I just threw it in the channel the probability of you finding it again is slim to none. You wanna give it a shot? Ready?" John B says moving to the edge of the dock, then he fake throws the key "No! Hey! Please don't do that." Limbrey says "Get him to back the hell up." John b tells her "Of course. Back up." She tells the guy "As I have told you from the beginning, I am willing to be reasonable." She says "Okay" Pope says "Okay?" She asks "I'll give you the key but I want the tape" Pope says "Of course. Of course" Limbrey says smiling "Pope. Hey, hey, hey, hey. You don't have to do this, okay?" John B tells him. "No, it's okay," Pope tells him. "No dude this is your family" John B tells him "Hey it's fine. It's okay. It's about your dad. That's way more important." Pope tells him and John b give him the key "Oh you're a good friend" Limbrey tells him "The tape" Pope says "Yes give him the tape." Limbrey says The guy gives him the tape as pope gives him the key "You know, I wish that you'd come to this decision earlier. We could have avoided all this unpleasantness." She says as they leave "Nice to meet you" John B says "See you around Pope" the guy says "Just go" Kie says "How long do you think we have until she realizes she has your father's old key?" JJ asks John b after they left "Ten minutes" John B says "Whose idea was the fake key?" Pope asks them "Shockingly not mine" Kie says "Hmm I don't know. Should we tell him?" John b says wrapping his arm around JJ "Wow. I'm impressed. Maybe you are good for something" Kie says "Did hell freeze over?" Pope asks "Even a blind pig can find an acorn at times. I actually don't know what that means but I saw it on Reddit." JJ tells us "We gotta take the tape to Shoupe" John B says. "Yes sir. Ward Cameron, we're coming for you big boy" JJ yells "It's Ward's turn now!" Pope says laughing
The boys run the to station and gave shoupe the tape. After they did we all sat on the dock together "Ladies and gentlemen Ward Cameron king of the Kooks is going to jail!" JJ yells "Goodbye! Goodbye!" John B yells as they all cheer "Adios! He out of there! Adios!" Pope yells "Whoa whoa!" JJ cheers
Sarah and I just sit there a small smile on our face. Are we happy our dad won't be trying to kill any of us or messing something else up yes but he's still our dad. The same dad who saved my life when I was younger, who worked hard for his family to have a better life than him. Ithink the boys forget that he is still our dad. Sometimes wish I could just wake up the next morning and everything would be back to normal. Before my dad and rafe went completely unhinged. Before our family was distorted.
"Do you regret it?" Kis asks Sarah and I I shake my head Sarah doing the same "No. He deserves all of it and we know that." Sarah tells her "He's your dad. I get it. I'm sure it sucks to be in the middle" Kie says I couldn't bring myself to even say anything about the situation. But before I could even try my phone rings. I stand up walking away to answer it "Sorry." I tell kie and Sarah "No you're good" kie smiles "Hello?" I ask answering it "Hey Stella. I don't know how to tell you this but they're... they're coming for your dad. Grandpa just signed the warrant. And um if you have anything you want to say to him I would do it now." Topper tells me "Yeah okay. Thanks." I tell him "I'll be here if you need anything okay?" Topper says before I hang up
We all jump in the van driving as fast as possible to Tannyhill. As we drive Police cars race past us "Shit" Kie mumbles "Oh my God. Can you please hurry? I need to be there for Wheezie" I tell john b as he was driving "You think I wanna miss this?" John B asks me I just stare at him not knowing what to say or think about that. I understand John b being happy about him getting arrested I do, but seeing the excitement on his face about it shook me.
"Holy shit" Sarah says as we pull up to the house "I can't see bro." JJ says pulling pope out of the way "Okay well now I can't see" Pope tells JJ
The cops look like they were running to the dock "Screw it. I'm going over" John B says "Right behind you" JJ tells him
As we run in I see wheezie and mom outside the house "Wheezie" I say running up to her "Wheezie" Sarah says as well "What's going on? Why are the police here again?" Wheezie asks us We quickly pull her into a hug "Go inside. Don't come out" I tell her Wheezie starts to cry running inside Misti what I told her. "Stella! Sarah!" Mom yells at us but we run past her following the cops When I get there I see Dad out on the Druthers and the cops on the dock. "Dad!" Sarah and I yell "Hey hey. You gotta let us through" John B tells them "That's Stella and Sarah Cameron. Let them through!" Shoupe tells them "What are you doing here girls?" Dad asks us "Dad!" Sarah yells "Dad what are you doing?" I yell "Vic you gotta get them out of here! They can't be here right now!" Dad yells "Just come on in and you... you... you can talk to them!" Shoupe says "Stella Sarah I'm so sorry. I can't!" Dad tells us "Dad please what are you doing?!" I ask him Dad pulls the the anchor up from the Druthers "Dad no no no!" Sarah yells "Ward this ain't gonna end the way you want it to! You don't need them seeing this." Shoupe yells "Dad don't leave!" Sarah yells "Dad please where are you going?! Dad!" I yell "I love you!" Dad yells to Sarah and I "Hey! Damn it Ward!" Shoupe yells "Dad! No!" Sarah begs "Dad! Please! No!" I yell begging him "Turn it around and get back in here!" Shoupe yells but he doesn't listen instead he gets inside of the boat. "Dad! Please!" I yell "Please don't leave!" Sarah begs him And just then I saw something I thought I would never see.
The Druthers explodes. With dad in it.
"Dad!" I scream out "No. No. Dad. Dad!" Sarah yells falling to her knees as kie try's to hold her "No! Dad!" I cry falling to my knees
As I cry yelling for my dad I feel someone's arms wrap around me. I look up hoping to see John b. But it wasn't.
