I went over to kie's house the next morning and explained everything that happened to her. As we were talking I got a text from wheezie. I look at kie then play the voice recording "Stella. Don't be mad but I ran away. I'm in the OBX and I have to see you. Come to our rental condo on greensburrow street ok? But Stella please don't tell anyone." Wheezie says then the recording ends "Oh my God" I mumble a tear falling from my face "Go" kie tells me "I'll be here when you get back" she says "Thank you kie" I smile as I walk off
"Hello? Wheezie? Wheeze?" I ask walking into the condo I turn the corner to see my dad ther "I effing knew it. I knew it." I say "I needed to see you Stella. I just needed to tell you I'm sorry because I am so-" he says stepping closer to me "No you stay right there! Do you know how stupid this is? If anybody sees you you go to jail! If I yell and the cops come and you go to jail!" I tell him trying not to cry "I don't think you're gonna do that." He tells me "Try me. I already did." I tell him "What?" He asks "Don't worry. I called them to the unit next door. I could yell. I might. So whatever it is you're here for I suggest that you hurry up and you don't piss me off." I tell him "So angry. So much hatred" he mumbles "Because I'm homeless! I have no money! I have no family anymore except Sarah! I have nowhere to go because of you!" I cry "I know" he tells me "And you used my baby sister as bait to get me here." I cry "I know. Stella I know everything I did everything that happened. All of it. It's my fault. I know. I don't know how I'll make up for it or if I even can but I'll try. I'm gonna do what I can." He tells me "Good luck." I scoff "I know you won't believe me but I'm trying to live my life a different way." He tells me "You want to make amends? Give the gold back to the Pogues" I tell him "We can talk about that. We can. They certainly deserve some of it." He tells me "Let's talk about it." I say "Right now I'm here for you. This is for the condo. Um... This is some money for you. Got all the money you'll need on it. I'll just... I know you're not gonna forgive me. How could you? I just want you to know that I love you. And that I'm sorry. Bless you baby." Dad tells me giving me the keys and money then he walks out. I just sit down my head in my hands crying.
I start getting ready for kie's parents party. Not to long after I leave to make my way there. Once I get there I'm immediately met with topper "Hey Stella. Can-can we talk?" He asks me "I don't want to talk topper" I tell him walking away
"Hang on. Please excuse me. Thank you. Um.. I just want to say a few words and I'm not much into giving speeches but I do want to say thank you for coming out and thank you for your support after a rough few months. I want to say thank you to our daughter for being here. Hey we love you." Mr Carrera tells kie "Love you too" Kie says "But most of all... Come here. Thank you Anna... for 15 years for making this restaurant a symbol of our life." Mr. Carrera says "I love you" she tells him "Figure Eight the Cut. Everyone's together here. As one island. So thank you for putting up with us Cheers. Thank you all for coming. Cheers." He says
I'm standing at a table alone when John b walks up to me. "John b?" I ask "Stella hey hey listen listen. I'm so sorry. I was so wrong for saying that to you. I knew it was butt my dad told me to lie and I wanted to make him proud and things and I don't know but listen I need to tell you the truth" he rants to me and pull me aside "We found it. We know where the gold is to some extent but Stella my dad- he was kidnapped by Singh. They took him to South America. And they are going to kill him. We need to leave right now" he tells me "Oh- oh my God" I mumble "And again Star I'm so sorry for what I said and did. I should've never lied or said any of those things-" John b starts to rant again "John b" I say stopping him "I forgive you" I smile and he smiles back "But there's something you need to know first" I tell him and his smile drops "Topper kissed me" I tell him "Wha-what?" He asks me "I didn't have a place to stay after our fight and he found me drinking tap out of a sink on the docks. He took me to this party and then to the lighthouse. He started talking to me then he just leaned in and kissed me. I was so shocked I didn't move until I realized i wasn't kissing- I wasn't kissing you it was topper. So I shoved him off and I made him take me back. And and-" I start as I start to tear up "Hey hey hey" he says grabbing my hand "You didn't kiss him back?" He asks me "No no when I realized it wasn't you I shoved him off my mind was just to scrambled-" I tell him "Star. It's ok. You didn't kiss him back. That's all that matters" he smiles at me "Thank you" I smile at him resting my head on his chest
"Have you told kie or Sarah?" I ask him "Shit no. I need to go grab JJ real quick. I'll be back" he tells me then runs off
"Stella. Can we please talk?" Topper asks walking up to me "Topper there's nothing to talk about" I tell him "Come on Stella." He says grabbing my hand "No. Topper." I tell him pulling my hand away
I turn to see John B walking towards us. And I try to get him to stop knowing what he was about to do but he pushes right past me "We're not doing this" Topper tells him "Feel good about yourself Topper?" John b asks shoving him "Stop!" I yell "You need to chill out bro. I'm not ruining their party." Topper tells him "That's what you're worried about?" John b asks him "I would walk away" Topper tells him "Feel good about yourself topper? After you forced a kiss on someone who didn't want to do it?" John B asks him "John b please! Just walk away. Please. Look at me. Please don't." I tell him "Hey no hard feelings bro" Topper says "Topper stop" I tell him "We good?" Topper asks John B and he turns around punching him. Topper falls to the ground as John b gets on top of him punching him more "No. John B no!" I yell "You like that shit Top? Huh? Huh?" John b asks him "Stop John B!" I say "John B" Kie says John B grabs Topper by the front of the shirt "Stop! What are you doing? No!" I yell at John b "You ready for this?" John B says then punches him in the face again "JB stop please! What are you doing?" I yell JJ runs and grabs John b stopping him from punching topper more "Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Get out of here!" Mr. Carrera yells running towards the boys JJ grabs John B trying to pull him away "Is that what you want Mike?" John B asks him "Get off of him" JJ says "That's what I'm talking about! Both of you get out of here!" Mr. Carrera yells JJ grabs John b pulling him away "Do you need a doctor?" Mr. Carrera asks topper "We need a medic. Call 911" his mom says "Don't move your head Topper. Stay with me." His mom begs him
