Summer walked through the hallway, her fingers trembling. She was desperately hoping for the best out of this sweet sabotage she was planning, but she also anticipated the worst. It could go really well and the stars could align for her, or things could take a three-sixty and she could end up stabbing herself in the back all by her own doing.

As she made her way into Mr. Ellis' office, she reminded herself over and over that all she had to do is have him promise her that he will keep her identity concealed. That much he can do for her.

When she finally went into the room where his secretary was, the lady stood up and walked Summer to a door, knocked on it twice, then let Summer in.

Summer walked into the enormous Ellis headquarters CEO office, her eyes taken by the marvelous view behind the floor-to-ceiling windows, overlooking a view of the Hudson River from the seventieth floor.

"Ms. Harrison, what a pleasant surprise." Mr. Ellis said, looking up to see her for the first time. He stood up and made his way around the desk, where a set of chairs were. "Go ahead and have a seat."

"Hello, Mr. Ellis." Summer took the seat across from him, her heart pounding in discomfort. While every cell inside of her screamed at just how bad of an idea this was, her stubborn mind refused to believe in the consequences and decided to just accept that she was already there. It was simply too late to reconsider now.

"So Ms. Harrison, what is that you wanted to tell me that was so important?"

Summer fiddled with her purse strap, wondering where to start – how to start. Somewhere between the lines she saw her death in this. She began to think about her parents. What will happen to them if she said what she was planning to say next. Surely Fayth Armstrong won't leave them or Summer alone. She'll come after everything she knows she loves.

Run. Leave. Don't do this.

"I need your promise that what I am about to say didn't come from me. That it'll be just a rumor you heard."

John can see the seriousness of the matter from Summer's uneasiness. "Go ahead." He pushed. "Let me hear it first."

Summer shook her head, refusing to say anything until he promised. "You have to promise me."

John didn't believe in promises. Can words really weigh that much? Who would hold a secret in chains? Are kids really this dense nowadays? Simply because someone said the words 'I promise', a sense of loyalty is given?

He internally snorted. "I promise." He pronounced, looking at her from under his lashes with a sly smile on his face.

Summer sighed, her face muscles relaxing. "I'm sure you heard that Lexis has somewhat of an intimate relationship with a student in the Academy."

"I did." He shrugged. "I'm just not aware of who that student is."

"You'll be surprised to know that she's not what you expect."

John studied Summer's face. "And why is that?"

"She's..." Summer took in a sharp breath. "She's really poor. With a very bad family background."

John's eyebrows pulled together. "Ms. Harrison, I expected that she wouldn't have high standards that would meet my expectations, but I definitely know enough to be sure that no one as such would be enrolled into our Academy."

"But there is."

John stared at her, wondering who she was possibly talking about. And in that instant, a flashback of the girl he'd seen in the Academy's kitchen played before his eyes.

He straightened up and intertwined his hands in front of him, his face suddenly a sculpture. "Rihanna Gessner?"

Summer nodded.

Anger began to eat at John's insides. His nose flared, wondering where he went wrong with his idiotic excuse of a son.

He quickly stood up, not wanting to lose his self-control in front of the young lady. "Thank you for stopping by Ms. Harrison, you may leave now."

Summer nodded and quickly rushed out of the room.
