"Turn the other way." Rihanna ordered.
Anthony turned and looked at the other wall. Rihanna quickly began taking off her uniform and pulled on a boy's gym suit she had grabbed on her way out of the boys' locker room.
Thankfully it was a size small, so it fit her like a glove, but as she stared at the red and white color of it, which looked rather clean, she still wondered if it had been worn before.
"How did you know about the piano room?" Anthony asked.
"Shut up." Though she did wonder how he knew about the room. And it had a name?
"Why are you mean to me?"
"You remind me of someone unpleasant. A flirt with a dirty smirk."
"Ex?"
She sighed intently.
"Are you done?" He asked.
"What?"
"Are you done?" He said again. "With your clothes?"
She finished and threw the dirty clothes by the window in hopes the sun rays will help in drying up the expensive uniform. A commoner would spend the price of a used car buying the Academy's uniform, and Rihanna wondered if she can get away with buying another.
If she knew Dawn's Angels' intention was to ruin it from the start, she wouldn't have listened to that girl who had told her to make sure she had her uniform on for the meeting. Summer, however, knew the price of the uniform. She knew what Rihanna's parents' salary was.
She sat on the piano's bench and looked at Anthony. "Why do you bother people?"
He glanced at her, and when he looked her over, he turned so he can face her and smiled big. "Cause it's fun."
"No, it's not. It builds a filthy thing inside of you."
He frowned. "Don't be boring."
Her nose twitched. "I'm older than you. Don't you dare pull an attitude with me."
He put his palms up in surrender and opened his eyes big. "Okay. Okay. Don't get mad sensei kick ass."
"Foul language prohibited."
He gave her his lazy eyes and slouched his shoulder. For a moment, he actually looked cute. "Are you seriously one of those?"
"One of those what?"
"One of those goody two shoes that might as well wear a halo made of rainbow and dance to kids songs."
"Yeah. I am. What are you going to do about it?"
"Nothing, gosh and I thought you were kick a–" He quickly caught himself.
"Good. Now leave."
He stayed quiet.
Rihanna looked at him pointedly. "Did you turn deaf again? Leave."
He nudged his head toward the piano. "Do you know how to play the piano?"
"No."
"Oh." He stared at her face. There was a glint of sadness in his eyes that ate her insides. "That's too bad." He sighed and turned around, his body positioned toward the door.
"By the way." He said, still turned around. "You forgot to zip your sweater zipper up all the way. Its s e x y. " He spelled out.
She looked down.
And her heart fell.
Quickly, she grabbed the zipper and pulled it up to her neck, her heart beating uncomfortably as she stared at the little boy's back.
"Leave before I chop you and hide your body in this piano." She can feel her face heat up.
He still didn't turn around. He sighed and his shoulder's slouched even more. "Okay." He walked slowly, as if by chance Rihanna might stop him. When he reached the door, he opened it a crack and turned around to look at her. "I have no friends, and the only friend I thought would accept me showed me such a cold part of the world at such a young age. I guess I'll just go and cry somewhere by myself."
"Nice try kiddo. Take a box of tissues with you."
He growled at her, fed up. "So mean!" He slammed the door behind him.
Rihanna chuckled and looked out of the long windows.
As soon as the door closed, Anthony jumped and whooped in victory. She finally talked to him, that super awesome fun and mysterious girl actually talked to him. Whoa! The way she moved around Stephen and Dev. It was the most awesome kick a–fun thing he'd ever seen!
He fell to his knees, looked at the sky and clasped his two hands together, then smiled in happiness.
"Thank you." He whispered. "Thank you for letting me put a scorpion in Stephen's pants today. It's double worth it now."
His prayer and full blown smile were interrupted by sudden beautiful music that began playing.
Cara?
The melody drifted from behind the door, as it echoed inside the huge piano room. For a moment, his heart stopped, and shock made him stand to his feet and open the door slowly.
He peeked inside. The girl now had a blindfold over her eyes. Her body swayed with the music as her fingers moved on the piano like they were dancing for their dear life.
He closed the door behind him without making a sound, then tiptoed his way slowly to the bench and slid next to her.
As Rihanna finished up her playing, she smiled and sighed. For some reason, today she was a little bit happier. And she knew deep inside she owed it to that little kid. The way he accepted her beyond what he saw.... The way he was amazed by what she could do.... It somehow gave her a sense of self-worth. Something she knew she wouldn't have anymore in the Academy.
She removed the bandana–
And instantly jumped with a scream.
Anthony sat next to her, looking up with a big goofy smile and twinkling eyes. "Whoa."
