Fayth opened the bathroom door and stepped out, still drying her hair between a towel. She wasn't sure if she should do anything to it or just let it fall comfortably today, especially since she was staying in, but knowing there was never a one hundred percent assurance to that, she decided to tie it up.
After exiting the bathroom, she looked over at where the sunshine was pouring in from the window. It had been raining quite a lot lately and it was comforting to see it again.
However, it wasn't always nice to see things again.
A deafening scream escaped Fayth's lips at the sight of Lexis closing Jesse's dresser, a shirt in his hand.
"What the hell are you doing in here?!" She yelled, a finger pointing at him while her other arm wrapped around her towel covered chest. She was completely shocked and disturbed at the sight of him in her dorm, no less, during her shower time.
"Don't worry, just getting my shirt back." He went over to the window and climbed out.
She sighed in relief. Though still disturbed, she couldn't believe how well that went. It was in fact better than the scenario she had thought of. He didn't seem to suspect her anymore, and she didn't see a hint of accusation in his eyes.
She sighed again and turned to leave.
Lexis' head popped in from the window yet again. He looked her up and down and smirked in arrogance as he shamelessly mocked her. "There isn't much to see anyway."
And with that, he left.
Fayth closed her eyes and her chest rose and fell with aggravation. Anger seeped to the tip of her fingertips and her fingers began to clench automatically. She couldn't believe he had the audacity to say such an immature perverted thing.
A knock on the door pulled her back from where she was evaporating into total resentment.
She grabbed her candy container and water bottle and made her way to the door, this time taking five pills to help her renovate herself back into serenity.
"Who is it?"
"Hello, I'm sent by the headmistress. I'm sorry to disturb you, but she would like to see you in her office the following Sunday."
Fayth drowned the whole bottle of water and said. "Alright, I'll put that in my memos. Thanks."
"Alright then, have a good day."
Fayth listened to the retreating footsteps and frowned, wondering why Dr. Dormer would need her. It's been awhile since she had seen her last, and from what Vincent had said, he had assured Fayth that no matter what, there was absolutely nothing Dr. Dormer could do to figure anything out about her. So Fayth didn't need to be worried.
And fortunately, she wasn't. Fayth figured if anything, the headmistress needed her for something else. In fact, the only thing that Fayth is afraid of was for the exact opposite to happen. She was afraid Dr. Dormer had become assured that nothing was suspicious about Fayth after all and that she would send her back to the regular classes.
Fayth picked up her phone as it started to ring. "Hey Vincent."
"How are you Fayth?" Do you have a minute?"
She sat down on her bed and baby oiled her legs. "Sure."
"Do you remember how I informed you that there will be a meeting between you and the Ellis family today?"
"Yeah?"
"It's cancelled."
She sighed in relief. "Oh really? That's great."
"However, he wants to do it next Sunday. At your house. And since he thinks you're homeschooled, he won't expect you anywhere else."
"This is bad Vincent. This is really bad."
"What do you want to do? It's completely up to you. Our corp could really use their partnership as well. And if we give them the cold shoulder they might pull away all their shares."
Fayth sighed. "I told you about what I overhead the other night, right?" She asked.
"About Lexis' plan?"
"Yeah. I mean, it's a good plan. It would mean I don't have to stay with him. His father think he can get a business deal out of it, but we're actually using him for this. Lexis doesn't care about the friction between us and his father. He just doesn't want to get married to me. If he breaks the engagement off, if it came out of him rather than us, then afterwards we can still have the upper hand in keeping the partnership and not have to break off our agreement. We become the good guys and them the bad guys, so it'll be up to us whether we stay or leave. At that time, we'll stay."
"That's a good idea. But how are you going to avoid him revealing that it's you while you're with him."
"That's a good question. I still don't have an answer for it. Let me think about it a little more and I'll you know."
And that's what Fayth did all day: think about a plan that consisted of her being Fayth and not revealing that she was Rihanna at the same time to Lexis.
As she sat in the dining hall eating her lunch, she tried to create a vision of her dressed as Fayth. Without the eye makeup or the hair coloring, in designer clothes and a different personality. A much, much different personality than Rihanna's. Would Lexis buy it? Would he completely foresee Rihanna inside Fayth? Or would it miraculously slip past him?
Fayth sighed and looked up from chewing her sushi.
The rice froze in her throat as she stared with shock at Lexis, who had been sitting across from her on the table, a drink in his hand. His legs were crossed to the side, and he looked at her from a perked head and a sullen unreadable expression.
"Don't." His voice was quiet, dead, yet demanding. "Move."
