Rihanna looked at Mrs. Caravelle, smiling nervously while trying to be as polite as possible, "I think there is a misunderstanding here. How could a girl and a guy share a dorm?"

Mrs. Caravelle looked at Rihanna and smiled. "I completely understand the inconvenience of it, but as I mentioned before, that is the one condition you will have to endure if you are serious about continuing to attend this school. This is the only room in the girls dormitory that has just one resident in it."

Rihanna was going to ask out loud why a male was sharing a dorm here instead of one in the boys' dormitory, but her frenzied emotions came in the way. She was too confused, too anxious.

"Well Jessie, aren't you going to allow me to open the door so I may introduce Rihanna to her new room properly?"

Jessie was frozen in place, his eyes had a certain emotion that said fear, or maybe shock. Quickly, regaining some composure, he protested to her request, and said, "I'll do it. I am grade president after all. I wouldn't want you to carry on such a small task when I am ready and able."

For some reason, his words came out colder than what his personality conveyed. Rihanna couldn't help but think that it was her fault. That, for some reason, he suddenly hated her for being there.

They both reached for the suitcase. For a moment, their cheeks brushed against each other, and they both pulled away, staring at one another with confusion and fright as the foreign feeling dominated their bodily mechanisms.

Clearing his throat, Jessie looked away and opened the door, then swiftly carried Rihanna's suitcases in for her. She walked in after him, and looked around at the luxurious wide room, immediately noticing that it was divided by a white curtain made of satin.

"Well, you can go ahead and settle in. We have provided a curtain to help maintain privacy. If it needs to be adjusted to sliding doors, you can request that being done. Try to sleep as soon as you can so you are able to wake up early tomorrow and complete the task I've assigned you." She looked around the room and nodded in appreciation. "You're quite neat Jessie. Much better than the girls."

He scratched the back of his head, still uneasy. Rihanna stared at him and questioned the fear in his eyes. Was she the only one who noticed it?

He was trying his best to hide it after all.

Mrs. Caravelle turned around to leave.

"But–we're different genders..." Suddenly, the situation was becoming more real, more clear in Rihanna's head. Every night, she was supposed to sleep in the same room with a guy, Jessie nonetheless, who had girls flaunting all over him half naked. As if that wasn't enough of an attention attraction site, he was also grade president, and she was supposed to share that attraction site with him from now on.

Mrs. Caravelle put a hand on Rihanna's shoulder and smiled. "I know that hun, but I can tell that both of you are very well mannered. I give you my word Rihanna that absolutely nothing will happen between the two of you. Isn't that right Jessie?" She looked at Jessie, who swallowed and put on a fake smile.

"Yeah, nothing will happen."

"Right, then." She said, smiling and making her way out of the door. "Now, you two get along."

She left.

And Rihanna remained standing there alone with him.

"You must have a lot of questions." He said.

Get out of here. I need to get out of here and go to my side of the room right now.

She went to grab her suitcase, he did the same. And as they both bent down, their hands, this time, touched.
