The water splattered on the cold floor of the tub while Rihanna washed her hair. She can feel the warmth of the steam seeping into her skin, soothing her tense muscles. She wanted nothing more but to stay in there, for hours and hours, but knew she only had enough time before Jessie came back.
They had worked out a schedule for the dorm's bathroom. Rihanna would have a whole hour to herself in the dorm from three to four p.m. in case she needed to shower. Jessie wouldn't come back in during that time. And so far, the plan had been going great. She would even be able to change in her room instead of the small space inside the bathroom.
After finishing up with the shower, she slid the glass door open and exited on top of the towel mat, drying herself with her big blue towel and wrapping the small one around her hair. She stood in front of the long wall mirror, studying the the thick dark circles around her eyes that had formed from the overuse of eyeliner. She'd be a great cast for a horror movie, she realized. Maybe she can audition one day–scare the wits out of Anthony.
She chuckled to herself as she began pulling on her underwear, then bra. These were always an essential to put on before leaving the bathroom. No matter what deal she had with Jessie, it was still uncomfortable to be completely naked out in the dorm, unless of course she had a towel around her. But right now, she just didn't feel like taking a wet towel to her bed.
Either way, the agreement did excuse Jessie to enter the dorm in case of an emergency.
Jessie walked into the dorm, completely forgetting the file and the bag of ornaments on his desk. He needed to show the ornaments to the Academy's student council committee so they could choose which of them they will use for the upcoming holiday.
The curtain in the middle of the room was pulled open – a part of Rihanna's and his deal so Jessie knows when she's taking a shower. Or, if the curtain is closed, that she's done.
And right now, she was still taking a shower.
He grabbed the file and the bag of ornaments, and as he turned to walk back out of the door, one of the ornaments fell and began to roll.
Toward Rihanna's side of the room.
Jessie walked over to it to grab it, little did he know that the door was still having its lock problem.
The latch was not shut all the way into the plate. It slid out and the door began to open. By the time Jessie had picked the ball and stood up, it had already opened halfway.
And now...
Across from him, stood Rihanna, trying to latch on her bra strap. When she finally did, she bent down and began undoing the towel around her hair.
Nothing, nothing was more shocking than that moment to Jessie. Because right then and there, Jessie stared at a back filled with lines, drawings, colors, writing.
How is it....
That the innocent girl Jessie had seen in Rihanna...
The shy, down to earth and kind person...
Had all of that body art engraved into her skin?
It was the most self-depreciating thing he'd ever seen in anyone. And he had thought Lexis was in denial!
Unconsciously, everything in his hands fell to the floor.
Rihanna removed the towel and lifted her head up, checking herself out in the mirror.
