6: The Spiro Goulakos Story

4-6-1: Dartmouth Big Green (0-3-1 ECAC Hockey)

 After an embarrassing loss last Saturday, the Colgate Raiders and sophomore Spiro Goulakos return to Starr Rink to play the New England portion of ECAC Hockey teams, Dartmouth and Harvard this weekend in Central New York. Eric Mihalik and Cab Morris matched zeros in the first period so no score shows on the Starr Rink scoreboard after twenty minutes of play. With 5:13 left in the second period, Dustin Walsh scored to make it 1-0 Dartmouth. With 3:46 left in the second period, Brad Schierhorn scored to make it 2-0 Big Green. With 2:57 left in the second period, Tyler Sikura scored to make it 3-0 Dartmouth. With 61 seconds left in the second period, Robbie Bourdon scored his third goal of the season, short handed to make it 3-1 Big Green. Mihalik and Morris matched zeros for the remainder of the period so the visitors from Hanover,New Hampshire lead 3-1 heading to the second intermission. With 18:49 left in the third period, Eric Robinson scored to make it 4-1 Dartmouth. Coach Vaughan pulled Eric Mihalik out of the net and so, Spencer Finney filled in for the remainder of the game. With 11:21 left in the third period, Jeremy Price scored his second goal of the season to make it 4-2 Big Green. With 8:24 left in the third period, Robbie Bourdon scored his fourth goal of the season, his second goal of the game to make it 4-3 Dartmouth. With 2:13 left in the third period, Joe Wilson scored his first goal of the season to tie the game 4-4. With 3 seconds left in the game, Robbie Bourdon, with a Superman dive, scored his fifth goal of the season, his third goal of the game, a hat trick to make it 5-4 Raiders! Spencer Finney stops all three shots he faced and Colgate somehow wins 5-4! Colgate improved to 5-6-1 on the season and 1-3-1 in ECAC Hockey play!
