After a satisfying win over the hated Clarkson Golden Knights last Saturday, the Colgate Raiders reunite with the Starr Rink crowd as they welcome in the defending national champions, the Yale University Bulldogs with Colgate hoping to send a message. With 12:01 left in the first period, Carson Cooper scored to make it 1-0 Yale. With 4:07 left in the first period, Jesse Root scored to make it 2-0 Bulldogs. Eric Mihalik and Alex Lyon matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 2-0 Dawgs is the score showing on the Starr Rink scoreboard heading to period number two. With 11:10 left in the second period, Derek Freeman scored his first goal of the season to make it 2-1 in favor of the 2013 NCAA men's hockey champs. With 6:55 left in the second period, Chris Izimirlian scored to make it 3-1 Yale. With 5:20 left in the second period, Mike Doherty scored to make it 4-1 Bulldogs. With 63 seconds left in the second period, Kyle Baun scored his sixth goal of the season, on the power play to make it 4-2 in favor of Coach Allain's Bulldogs. Spiro Goulakos picks up an assist on the Kyle Baun goal. Mihalik and Lyon matched zeros for the remainder of period number two so Yale's lead remains 4-2 heading to period number three. With 57 seconds left in the third period, Jesse Root scored to make it 5-2 Dawgs. Alex Lyon finished the Hamiltonians off and Yale wins 5-2. Colgate dropped to 6-7-1 on the season and 4-3-0 in ECAC Hockey play.
