After a clutch shootout goal by Ryan Johnston last night, the Colgate Raiders return to the state of hockey for the Mariucci Classic championship game against the number two team in the country, the Ferris State Bulldogs hoping to do what the Raiders did on the opening weekend of the season again here tonight. Charlie Finn and CJ Motte matched zeros in the first period so no score between two teams that continue to run into each other after one period of play. With 5:34 left in the second period, Spiro Goulakos scored his second goal of his semifinal season on Colgate's campus, on the power play to make it 1-0 Colgate. With 2:03 left in the second period, Mike McCann scored his third goal of the season to make it 2-0 Raiders. Finn and Motte matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 2-0 Colgate remains our score heading to the second intermission. With 9:17 left in the third period, Darcy Murphy scored his tenth goal of the season, on the power play to make it 3-0 Hamiltonians! Charlie Finn completed his first NCAA shutout and Colgate wins 3-0! Colgate improved to 8-9-3 on the season!
