After a miserable third period sunk the Raiders last night, the Colgate Raiders honor the Colgate hockey class of 2012 as they welcome Union College in for the regular season finale this evening. With 14:25 left in the first period, Daniel Carr scored to make it 1-0 Union College. With 16:49 left in the first period, Robbie Bourdon scored his twelfth goal of the season, on the power play to tie the game 1-1. With 8:57 left in the first period, Shayne Gostisbehere scored to make it 2-1 Union. Alex Evin and Troy Grosenick matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 2-1 Union College leads heading into the first intermission. With 12:24 left in the second period, Austin Mayer scored his eighth goal of the season, on the power play to tie the game 2-2. With 12:06 left in the second period, Daniel Carr scored to make it 3-2 Union. Evin and Grosenick matched zeros for the remainder of period number two so the visitors from Schenectady lead 3-2 heading to the third period. With 18:54 left in the Daniel Carr scored to make it 4-2 Union. With 4:21 left in the third period, Austin Smith scored his thirty-fourth goal of the season, on the power play to make it 4-3 Union College. Spiro Goulakos had an assist on the Austin Smith goal. With 28 seconds left in the third period, Josh Jooris scored to make it 5-3 Union. Troy Grosenick finished off the Raiders and Colgate concludes the freshman season of Spiro Goulakos with a 5-3 loss despite Goulakos getting an assist on a milestone play by Austin Smith. Colgate finished Goulakos's freshman season with a record of 17-14-3 and a record of 11-10-1 in ECAC Hockey play.
