As the 2014-15 Colgate hockey season looms, so does year number two of Spiro's Goulakos' captaincy. Goulakos has now been the captain of the Colgate men's hockey team for over a year and he's been more than advertised in this prestigious role that assistant coach Mike Harder once had during the 1996-97 season. Coach Vaughan clearly knows what Spiro is all about as a player and now, he's seen him at his best as a leader on this Hamiltonian team which has been amazing to watch over the past three seasons in and out of Hamilton. Regardless of how Spiro's final season plays out, we only can hope for competitiveness from the Raiders under their second year captain.

Colgate men's hockey, as I've mentioned before, is in marvelous hands with captain Goulakos and incoming sophomore goalie Charlie Finn as well as head coach Don Vaughan. These three men are all responsible for last year's success but are looking to build on their success from yesteryear with another strong season this year. Spiro's performance this upcoming season will be looked upon as the performance of a captain hoping to end his college hockey career on the right foot.

So, what will Spiro's senior season consist of? We're about to find out as Spiro prepares for a season of being in the spotlight for the second year in a row not only as Colgate captain. Spiro's in the spotlight because he's popular with the fans and he's pretty good at what he does on the ice as his perseverance continues to pay off years after a cancer diagnosis and health scare. You wanna know something? The more I research Spiro, the more I love and respect him for everything he did on and off the ice at Colgate and away from Central New York alike! #thankyoucaptain
