"Your name is... Edan!"

The lamb's eyes lit up, he liked the sound of that name.

"What does it mean?" He asked.

"It means 'little fire', The phoenix kin often have names that mean or refer to fire. Since you'll be living with me until you wish to leave, it makes things easier. You'll be a distant relative of mine who came to stay with me while my friends are elsewhere," Ebany explained to the lamb before her, "my friends and I were meant to live here together, all five of us, but things happened and I ended up living here alone. You came here to visit and live with me for a while."

The lamb, Edan, was surprised at how she thought of that so fast. Ebany must be very creative, he thought. "Why aren't your friends living with you?"

"Well..." She turned to a portrait of five people which included her self and her friends. "Hunters and poachers came onto our homes. We had to separate and scatter until the activity died down. I'm waiting for my friends to join me. I stay here because I like it here though. The hunters we ran from don't hunt animals, they hunt hybrids like me. My feathers can be quite valuable in healing potions, clothing, and more. We're just spare parts to them." She frowned.

"Oh... I'm sorry for being up bad memories." Edan looked down but looked back up when he felt a hand on his head.

"It's fine. You're not at fault. Come with me to my room, I'll see if I can find you some clothes. Oh! But you'd need a bath first. It'll help clean you up and the warm water will ease the pain as my mother always says." Ebany said.

The lamb nodded and followed her to the bathroom.

I led Edan to the bathroom and told him where everything was. He got the hang of the place quickly, and I decided to let him have some privacy after getting the water running. I made sure the bandages were off before I left for my room. I looked around to see what he could wear. I think I might have to go clothes shopping if I can't find anything. I thought back to the clothes he wore when he arrived. Maybe I can patch those up with a spell? Since I'm not too good at sewing, I use a spell to fix rips or tears on my clothes. They needed a good wash too.

I entered my room and looked around for what I could use. Benjy and Rune helped me as well. I remembered that I had some ponchos I had stored away that I hadn't worn yet. Perhaps one of those would do, but would they fit was the question. I might need to go to the tailor's in town with his measurements. I don't know the religions or faiths many of the townsfolk follow, but if one of them was a follower of the Old Faith, then it spells doom for Edan!

Pushing those thoughts back for now, I kept searching and dug up the ponchos. I set them aside and looked for what he could use for sleep wear. Now that I think about it, maybe Fornius will have something by the time she comes around again? I think she's coming soon. I should be working by the time she does and I could buy clothing then.

After finding an oversized shirt which could work as sleep wear, I went back to the bathroom.

After Ebany had left, Edan took off his clothes and set them aside. He saw that they were worn and tattered after running so much. They would probably be thrown out. Edan put those thoughts aside and got into the tub. Ebany was right, the warm water did feel good on his wounds and eased his sore muscles. Before he got to cleaning himself, Edan took a few moments to think.
