Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Edan was at home when the cultists had entered the town. He was playing a tune on his ocarina, the lullaby that Ebany sang to him. Edan slept quite well the next few nights after that. No nightmares to be seen or heard. When they returned, Ebany sang to him again and it worked once more. They weren't sure if it was a permanent thing, but they were grateful it was working. A note appearing on the table paused his practice. Edan saw it appear, so he picked it up and read it.
To say he was in shock was an understatement when he read the content...
'Cultists are in town! Stay inside! You know the drill! They're in disguise saying they want to protect lambs!'
It was from Ebany. She didn't need to write much to get the message across.
"Benjy!!" Edan called out. The fairy looked out of the window from his little house. He flew over to Edan and asked what was amiss. Edan showed him the note and he understood. Immediately, they closed the window curtains to make it look like no one was home. Rune kept a look out in case anyone was coming. She barked three times when someone did.
Cultists from each cult of the Old Faith had arrived and they were out to find him. Some were coming up on Ebany's house. Rune barked three times, alerting the boys. Rune ran to another secret compartment and opened it. Edan followed her and got inside. It was like a secret room inside the wall. He hid inside with Rune while Benjamin got in disguise.
Growing into his big form, Benjamin sported the outfit of a butler with the glasses to match and was ready when he heard knocks on the door. He had made sure that everything that indicated Edan being there was concealed and unseen. Benjamin walked to the door and opened it.
"May I help you?" He asked.
"Hello sir. We're sorry to bother you, but we've come to inquire about a missing lamb. As you know, they have been hunted to no end and we wish to ensure the last one's safety. They have been sighted in this area, would you happen to know their whereabouts?" They asked. Just like Ebany's note said, they were in disguise with different robes.
"I'm afraid not." He said simply.
"Is there someone else living with you? Can we ask them?" They asked.
"My mistress is out for the day and does not take kindly to unexpected visits or uninvited visitors. I can assure you she will say the same." Benjy said in his best butler voice.
"Are you absolutely sure?" The cultist asked once again.
"Quite. Now, I bid you good day." He shut the door on them.
"Well, we got nowhere again." One of them said.
"There's something strange about that guy. He didn't look like anyone in the village." Their companion pointed out.
"So he's from a different place?" The two started to walk away.
"Possibly. Let keep an eye on this house and see who the mistress is." One whispered to the other.
Benjy watched to see if they left and once they did, he gave the signal for Edan to come out. Edan slowly crept out of the secret spot.
