Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.

The wild goose chase that Forneus sent the cultists on was quite successful. Most of them went to investigate the new "lead" they had. They only left two or three of their ranks in the villages they were sent to search using the story of wanting to help the lamb. It had given Ebany to gather supplies for a long journey if needed. So far, they hadn't been caught. Edan would have liked to go to the village but obeyed when Ebany said that he couldn't every now and then. When he did go, he carried something that cover his face too, in case cultists were posted. For example, he would carry a basket and it would hide his face!

Another month and a half had passed since the cultists arrived at the village. Ebany and Edan got to see Forneus when she came by again. She was happy to see them both and to hear that they were still in town. Ebany had told her in secret with another "order" that they had what they needed in case for a quick get away. There had been a few close calls, but thanks to Ebany's magic, they were able to get out of uncomfortable situations. Unbeknownst to them, the cultists that remained had kept a close eye on Ebany, seeing that she wasn't like the rest of the villagers.

The villagers told them that Ebany was a refugee from a country far away. She had fled those that wished her harm. They heard the word, "Noonveil" a couple of times and assumed that was the place where she was from. Even now, they saw Ebany leaving for work, not accompanied by the little child they sometimes see her with. In fact, every time they saw them, the child had their face covered with something they carried. It could be a simple coincidence, but that didn't stop the suspicions from rising.

It was then that they decided to report to their lord, Leshy. They would tell him about the strange being and the odd one that followed her around. Using a relic they were given to fast travel, one went to Leshy while the other remained in the village, keeping an eye on Ebany's house.

They appeared in Leshy's temple, dawning their robes of an enforcer of the Old Faith. They began to make their way to see and report to the Bishop of Chaos. The enforcer entered the temple and made their way to where their chaotic master was.

"My master..." The enforcer kneeled down and bowed in respect.

Leshy's large figure loomed over them once more. "You better have news that pleases me...or the lamb's head will not be the only one to roll."

"Yes, my lord... We have a possible suspect of who could be hiding the lamb. There is a winged girl in the village, completely different than the other villagers in appearance. We were told that she is a refugee from a place called, Noonveil. On occasion, we have seen her with a small child. They keep their appearance hidden from anyone and everyone. I caught a quick glimpse of their face, and it looked like that of a lamb. The villagers told us that they were relatives living together."

Not one for lengthy stories, Leshy only growled at the enforcer. "On with it!"

"They live in a house outside of the village! I have no doubt that is where the lamb is hiding! The girl has been making several shopping trips, gathering supplies for a journey with discretion... They are planning to leave town soon. I will recall the others back to catch them before they get the chance!" The enforcer knew not to make Leshy angry or any of the Bishops angry, so they sped up the explanation and plan they had in mind to enact.

Leshy thought about it for a moment. "And who is there now?"

"Just myself and an acolyte at the moment. The others had gone to investigate a lead we received a while ago. Someone had supposedly seen a lamb pass that village weeks ago heading in the opposite direction of the girl's house, the others went in that direction to investigate the trail. They reported back saying that nothing was found, assuming that the lamb gave them the slip." Yeah, that lead led nowhere. By the time they went to confront Fornius about it since she gave them the tip, she had been long gone.
