Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb or the dialogue. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Edan walked to the area with the doors that led to each domain. Upon arriving, the door to the realm of the dead cracked and burst open. Edan knew that was where he had to go. Edan was accompanied by his most devoted followers and disciples. They each knew what to do and would help their leader. Edan walked through the open door and to the center of the ritual circle. His followers surrounded him and they begun the prayers that would trigger the ritual.
Among them were some of the former acolytes of the Old Faith. Valefar, Barbatos, Baalzebub, and a couple more. Edan wished that Ebany was among them, but she did not support The One Who Waits. She stayed behind with Feldoh, Webber, and the children. It was a good idea as someone needed to stay with the young ones. Feldoh and Sozo were there too so they would help.
"No... I don't think I can join you. I don't trust him." Ebany told her brother.
"Ebany, how can you say that? After all he's done for me, for the Cult?" Edan looked at her.
"What about the prophecy? Edan, you may have to give up your life for good! Would The One Who Waits truly revive you?" Ebany questioned him.
Wait, would he? Would The One Who Waits revive him? Of course he would! He was to be at his master's side! "I'm one of his vessels to carry his will..." Edan looked at her. "I know that everything will be alright..." He took her hands and looked at her sincerely. "I know it will..." Edan said to her.
"Si lo dices... If you say so..." Ebany looked as unsure as ever...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Edan could still remember her look of uncertainty. Ebany was worried but knew that she couldn't do anything. Edan's mind could not be changed. Edan felt the power flow through him as he was sent to his master's realm. Edan appeared in the white and cream colored void. On each side of him were three weapons. Edan walked to one side and chose, a dagger making the rest disappear. He walked over to the other set and chose a scythe. Now that he was armed, he walked to where his master waited.
Edan noticed that a few things were a little different as he approached. There were two cages on each side of The One Who Waits. Those were never there before. It seems that his master has been preparing for this day and made sure things were extra special for his liberation. Aym and Baal were on each of side of him, ready to serve as always. The One Who Waits grinned as he approached.
"Vessel, I relinquish you from your service to the Red Crown. Return it to me, and embrace the end that awaits. With this last sacrifice of my most devoted Follower, I will be freed. Finally... I will be FREE! Approach, vessel, and lay your life down at my feet."
Edan heard his words... did he really mean what he say? Edan's thoughts were interrupted when he saw his followers appear in the cages! They were frightened and didn't know why they were there! One second they helped their leader ascend to the god of death, and now, he had them locked up?! "What the... my lord, why are they here?!" Edan hoped they weren't to be sacrificed! He knew they were necessary but deep down, he didn't like doing them!
"I want them to witness my freedom, vessel. Oh, and we will be having a special guest to watch this momentous occasion!" With a snap of his fingers, foggy clouds vanished to reveal a new cage, shaped differently than the other two.
