Ebany didn't get to celebrate her birthday in Noonveil last year. Now, it was coming up in the next few days. Ebany had been so busy lately that she forgot it was coming up. What did she want to do on that special day? She didn't know. Ebany wasn't the party type and was usually a wallflower at them. Back when she attending family gatherings, she used to play with her cousins and the other kids, but after she grew up, there was less playing and less talking. Ebany hardly ever saw the extended family on her father's side since that's who they always saw. They never wrote, they never called, they never visited, and neither did she.

Ebany wondered if she should visit Edan or go out with her friends. Maybe she could do both? Edan was a Cult leader so he was pretty busy. That didn't include getting hurt on crusades. Still, one thing was for sure. Ebany didn't want a big party, she'd rather hang out with her friends before going home and sharing cake, or rather a choco-flan. Ebany wasn't a big cake fan either. They were either always dry, not her favorite flavor, or were drenched with frosting. Ebany preferred her favorite dessert next to brownies and that was a choco-flan. A layer of chocolate cake layered with a creamy custard flan that made the cake nice and moist!

As for presents... Ebany preferred books for the most part. Fortunately for her, her friends and family understood. Now that she was reminded of the day, which was less than a week away now... Another year of her life had gone by and she was still considered a chick in Phoenix years. Ebany petted Rune as she slept by her side, thinking of what to do once she got home. She was still at Merlin's castle, finishing up some homework she had. She had told him of the previous adventure she had... the one when she turned into a lamb. To Ebany's surprised, she could still access that form! The hooves still felt weird.

From that adventure, Ebany came home with baby pictures of Webber and Edan. She gave the pictures of Webber growing back up to Shamura. Shamura was thankful that they had memories of Webber as a cute little infant. Webber actually almost bit Kallamar! The squid dodged in the knick of time, unlike Aym. Aym was bitten from behind before he went down like a light. It was kind of a comical sight from what Ebany was told about it. All of her thoughts were interrupted when she received a magic letter from Edan.

It was an update on his and Narinder's progress for the ritual to turn him into a demigod. Edan requested she attend in case something went wrong like last time. Thinking about it, it seemed like a good idea. Edan's power alone hadn't been strong enough to revive Narinder because he was an infant god. She revived him and then respawned afterwards. Ebany wrote a reply that she would be there. Edan just needed to tell her when they would do it and if she should bring anything that could help. She also mentioned that her birthday was coming up and she didn't know what to do that day. If he wanted to visit, then by all means!

Ebany finished the letter and threw it into the air. It disappeared and was delivered to the lamb. The day he had in mind to do it was practically two months away, but Ebany could see the symbolic and spiritual reasons behind that choice. Those days were said to be very important for magic users as it was said that one's power grew stronger. Ebany never noticed and wondered if it was a specific type of magic like witchcraft that got stronger. Ah well. Ebany would rather live in the here and now rather than think of the future. That was a headache.

Edan and Narinder did their research to find out all they could before they performed the ritual that would turn Narinder into a demigod. His wound had fully healed as well so he was out of that pickle. They believed that they had almost everything and it seemed to be that Narinder had to drink Edan's blood as he recited a chant that would turn him into a divine being once more.
