Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Everything was set into place. The ritual was ready to go underway. All the lamb had to do now was wait until the witching hour. As the god of death, he could feel the rift between the mortal realm and the realm of the dead shifting. It felt as though spirits from the beyond would come at any second, but they were kept at bay. Edan looked at the candles and seal within the church. They had been set up after the sermon he had given earlier. They were to be left along now and lit once the time had come. The item he had needed from Jaziel was in his possession as well. It was an amulet of sorts, a relic said to be made by Chemach before she went insane. It might possibly be the final godly artifact she made before losing it.
Edan wouldn't be the only god anymore. Sure a demigod was only half, but it was rather lonely. Back when he was just Narinder's vessel, Edan sometimes woke up thinking he was back in his village with his family. It took sometime to accept that they were all gone. When he heard about Bell Meadow, Edan had secretly hope that there were more lambs, but they had died out years ago. Due to their dwindling population and mixing blood, they weren't to last... Oh well. He wouldn't be the only god anymore so that was a plus. Edan walked out of the church where he saw Narinder waiting for him.
Narinder knew what the lamb was doing. He patted his head and placed his arm over his shoulders. "It's nearly time, Cael..." He said softly.
"I know, Nari. I know... I hope all goes well..." Edan looked worried. "My powers are still manifesting..."
"All will be well, Lamb." Narinder said. "I know I don't have my powers anymore, but something tells me that it will go smoothly."
"Are you sure?" Edan looked at him.
"Do you doubt me, Cael~?" Narinder teased.
"Of course not. I just don't want things to turn out like when... I couldn't resurrect you." Edan explained.
"Then be glad you'll have the Firebird there. She's one of Rose's kin." Narinder stated.
"I know, but I'd like to do it on my own... I am supposed to be a god after all..." Edan said.
"...I was but a child when I found the crown. It took me 100 years to be able to properly wield it." Narinder said. Edan looked at him. "You are doing fine. And far faster than even I." He petted the lamb. "The only thing you will need to worry about is helping me recover from the ritual. My mortal body will need time to adjust to my powers again. And only my mighty god can help with that~" Narinder scratched under Edan's chin.
"Absolutely~!" Edan purred from the scratches he loved so much.
Narinder kissed his head. "I suggest making sure we have plenty of tea on hand. I'm probably going to need it."
"I made sure to have plenty of camellia flowers for tea. Edan nuzzled him.
"Good," Narinder petted him. "You're gonna do fine. I believe in you."
Edan hugged him. "Thanks Nari!"
"Of course." Narinder patted his back.
They were interrupted by Pandora as she came over. "My lamb! I have the costumes you asked for!"
"Costumes?" Narinder looked confused.
"For Halloween!" Edan said.
Pandora handed Narinder his costume. "I'm not sure why they requested this specifically... B-but I'm sure it'll look quite flattering on you!" She had it wrapped for him and gave the lamb his.
