Midas would have them now. Soon, he would have such brilliant new treasures! Maybe he would even show the lamb! It would be some sweet revenge after getting beaten up. And all for just some coins! That didn't matter now... Midas would become richer than ever with his new treasures...

Ebany had her eyes close as she was concentrating her magic. It was slowly growing... it was like a small spark increasing in size and growing hotter... Ebany felt the gold spreading to the rest of her body. Just a few more seconds... Ebany felt her body burst into flames. She was engulfed in fire, it swirled all around her.

Reversal... Ignite...

Midas froze and looked over. "Uh-oh..." He stepped back.

Ebany couldn't move because of the gold transformation, but her flames granted her movement. The gold stopped spreading and melted off, dripping to the ground. The fire that had covered her moved to reveal Ebany, now free and with blazing red eyes. She glared at Midas. "Touch them and I will melt every piece of gold you own." Even her voice was different.

"Well that seems a little uncalled for!" Midas said, but never expected what came next.

Ebany snapped her fingers, casting a spell that tied Midas up instantly. "You tried to turn us to gold. I say that's the least you deserve." Ebany walked to Feldoh and tapped his arm. The gold cracked and fell off of him. He was back to normal. Ebany looked at the other statues, she walked over to them and tapped a few of them. She used her left eye to see which ones could be returned to normal. "Sean libres. Be free." She said, tapping them. After she tapped each one, the gold cracked as it did with Feldoh. Before long, many of Midas's victims were freed. They looked at each other confusedly before they saw Ebany. She pointed to the exit.

"RUN! NOW!!" She ordered. They wasted no time in running and shouted thank you as they ran away.

"Hey!! You brat!" Midas struggled in the bindings. Ebany snapped her fingers again, zipping his mouth shut. "You'll be free once we're long gone." Ebany nodded to Feldoh and then looked at Midas. "You were most likely my ancestor's enemy instead of her friend."

"Come on!" Feldoh scooped up Webber and Rune, making for the exit. Ebany ran after them. They left Midas and his muffled shouting behind...

They had escaped into Darkwood after fleeing from Midas. Feldoh found a teleportation stone and used it to get them out of there. Darkwood was the first place he thought of and there they went. They could catch their breath once they were on the grass. Ebany looked at herself again and again... she was almost turned to gold! Feldoh too and she freed the others who had fallen victim!! Ebany used her most powerful reversal spell to undo Midas's power and it worked.

"Ebany, are you alright?" Feldoh went to her. He was worried about her... being partially turned to gold was terrifying, but Ebany was almost entirely turned to gold if she hadn't combusted like she did.

"I... I think so... I will be..." Ebany sat down. Her flames had ceased since they ran and her eyes were back to normal. "I should have listened to you... You were right! He was trouble! But I wanted to find Edan so badly... I was almost turned to gold, so were you..." Ebany held her head, feeling stupid for not taking Feldoh's advice. She was normally so cautious but she wanted to find Edan... She felt scared after what happened...
