Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.

There was a pep in Ebany's step as she continues down the path. After the dream she had, she felt much better. Ebany looked at the side of the path, wondering something... If she went that way, would she end up in the lands of the Old Faith? Before daring to test that theory, she took out the map and checked. According to the map, the lands of the Old Faith were a distance away even if she went off course. Regardless, she still needed a plan if she and Edan were to see each other again without the Bishops finding out. Ebany can teleport to different places, but she can only do so if she knows where somewhere is or knows what it looks like. The same rules applied to people. Ebany knew what Edan looked like, but had no idea how far away he was. Ebany might have powerful magic, but she wouldn't overestimate herself. One wrong move and it could spell disaster. It was why she was so careful with fire magic and fireproofed everything she owned.

Maybe she could ask Forneus if she knew some way to get there. Forneus travelled to all sorts of placed so there was a chance she knew how to get to Edan. The only thing to do was to get home and wait for Forneus to come to town. In the meantime, Ebany thought about the prophecy that Edan told her. The first part was obvious; a lamb would free The One Who Waits. The second part about the Red Crown that couldn't be on two brows though? Ebany had a hunch it meant that it can only have one wielder and one wielder alone. What did it mean for Edan though? Normally, Ebany would leave things like that alone, but with things set in motion, they would unravel even if she did nothing.

Ebany looked forward as she thought about the prophecy's meaning. Unbeknownst to her, cultists were still patrolling the border as Leshy ordered. They were hidden away in the shadows and hidden in plain sight. Any second now, they would see Ebany. Some that were there when Edan was captured had stayed around the area. A few in particular were looking for a suitable sacrifice only to be disappointed when literally NO ONE passed by! Until Ebany that is...

The hidden cultists heard her coming and watched from their hiding spots. It was the same winged girl that was with the lamb! The Hunter had only taken a feather and left the rest. The Bishops would be pleased with such a unique sacrifice, wouldn't they? Plus, those feathers look nice for a pillow... The cultists discussed it amongst themselves. They weighed the pros and cons of the potential sacrifice. The only problem they had was how to capture her... Based on what some of them had seen, she knew how to fight and could mop the floor with them... They were able to get the jump on her when the lamb was captured, but this time?

Only one way to find out!

They waited silently until she reached them. One of the cultists prepared a secret weapon but they needed a second to prepare it. The rest would keep Ebany busy in the meantime. Ebany had a feeling she was being watched. She stopped and looked around with her left eye. Ebany saw cultists hiding in the flora around her. Here we go again... She sighed. Just as she put her hand on her sword, every one of the cultists hiding jumped out and surrounded her and her friends.

Rune grew to her big size and growled at those nearby. Ebany drew her sword and immediately clashed with a cultist that came at her. This time, Ebany didn't hold back, she let the cultists have it! Rune bit and fought every cultist that tried to grab her. Benjy flew around blinding the cultists with pixie dust and casting spells on them to trip up. The cultist that was preparing the secret weapon aimed carefully. They needed Ebany to sit still for just a second before...
