Edan had a new quest before he would free his master. Now he was going after the Witnesses! It was a quest Plimbo told him about and it piqued his interest. Well, he sort of demanded it... It was when he want to Smuggler's Sanctuary and encountered Plimbo there. The man was angry at Edan for killing the Bishops. Not because he was on their side, no, but because they kept the seas intact and the monsters away! Now that they were all dead, the seas were dangerous and Plimbo's merchandise went down with the fishes. If Edan could get him the eyes of the witnesses, then problem solved. He decided to give it a try. Besides, he still needed a few more followers to get to the gate.

Edan would also keep an eye out for Ebany, Rune, Benjy, and anyone else with them. He hoped they would be in Darkwood by the time he went to fight the first witness. She didn't know the layout of the land and could get hurt... Edan let out a sigh as he travelled through Darkwood. It had been a couple days since he defeated Shamura. Right now, he was crusading for supplies before he went to face Witness Agares. He went through until he found Forneus. Edan always stopped to say hi to his good friend.

"Hello Forneus!" Edan said as he walked over.

"Hello, little lamb!" Forneus happily greeted him.

"How are you?" Edan asked.

"I am well! How are you?" She replied.

"I'm well. I wanted to ask if my order is ready." Edan inquired.

"It is!" Forneus got a package for him which Edan took. "I heard Shamura has been defeated." She said.

"They have been. I defeated them a couple of days ago." Edan told her.

"Your mission will be completed soon!" Forneus remarked.

"Yes. I need a few more followers and I'm on a quest right now. Well, two of them..." Edan's tone voice shifted.

"You seem troubled..." Forneus noticed his behavior right away.

"You could say that. I searched for Ebany after defeating Shamura, but I couldn't find her. Shamura had a plan to keep her away from me again... Ebany left a letter that explained things. She said that she would try to find you if she could. I already searched each domain but I missed her each time!" Edan was quite concerned. Since Ebany mentioned paying respects, he checked each temple, but he couldn't find her.

"I have not seen her, but I will keep my eyes out!" Forneus told him.

Edan smiled a bit. "Thank you. Oh, she won't be alone. Of course, Rune and Benjy will be with her, but she made a friend. What was his name... Webber! Apparently he was part of Shamura's cult." He explained.

"I see." Forneus understood, returning the smile.

"Thank you again. I'll be going now." Edan said and bade her goodbye. Forneus watched as left, waving goodbye to him. She was happy that he and Ebany would be reunited. Forneus knew that they would find each other. She was looking forward to see Ebany and her companions too. She missed them!

Ebany hadn't left Silk Cradle yet. She had been gathering supplies for a journey and making sure that Webber was okay. Some of the followers left the Cult of War and others remained. Webber hadn't come out of his room since Feldoh brought him there after that day. Nor did he open the documents that Shamura had told him to get. They lay on a desk, undisturbed. Feldoh would bring him food and try to persuade him to eat at least something. The most he got was a few bites.
