Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb or the dialogue. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Just as she said, Heket continued the conversation she had last night with Ebany. Ebany had brought out the photo album she had and showed her some pics of her friends. Heket was quite intrigued to see other beings of Noonveil. Especially Ebany's family and her friends.
"Tell me, who is who in this picture?" Heket asked as she looked at a big family picture. Ebany pointed out each person as she asked. "There's me, my parents, my aunt, grandparents, uncle Karrus, uncle Nox, my cousin, Soleil, my cousin, Johnathan and his fiancee, Faith. We took that one before I left." Ebany explained.
"Johnathan is the cousin who your mother mentioned, was it not?" Heket asked. Ebany nodded. "Yeah... He got hurt saving Faith. They were going to get married but stuff happened." She turned the page to one of her friends.
"And who are they?" Heket inquired.
"My best friends and sisters in arms. J, Serenity, Lightwave, and Amy. J's a dragon like Faith, Serenity's an akume, Lightwave's an alicorn hybrid, and Amy's a mief'wa, a cat beastman. We went oldest to youngest in that picture." Ebany told her as she pointed which friend was which. Heket looked at each girl, they looked similar to the friends Rose had. She didn't interact with them much, but Kallamar mentioned he faced an akume that time.
"So you're the oldest?" Heket didn't expect it. Blame it on the hight. Ebany nodded and sighed. "I'm the shortest and the oldest. We were all born in the same year and same month, just days apart from each other. Since our parents were all friends, we spent a lot of time together."
Heket was reminded of her siblings. Shamura was the oldest, then Kallamar, The One Who Waits, herself, and Leshy was the youngest. It seemed that Ebany had good friends if she referred to them as her sisters. Heket asked where they were now and Ebany replied that they were sent off as well, but to different locations. She mentioned that some of her friends had snuck off to join in the battle. Serenity was the weapons master and was the physically strongest. She and Lightwave would spar at extreme levels and often had many bruises afterwards. They always tied when they sparred.
The similarities between them were many which Heket found amusing. Ebany did seem to feel and look better after they talked.
"Did Rose ever do what I did?" Ebany asked Heket.
"She did. Since she lived before Noonveil was founded, it was a very stressful time for her and it got to her. I was shocked to see someone combust like Rose did and even more so when there not a scratch on her. No inch of soot or ash. I did the same for her as I did for you now." Heket told her. If only they met under different circumstances... Heket had wishes things were different, but they weren't. Ebany listened to Heket as she explained what had happened when Rose was there.
"You didn't mind that she followed a different faith and religion, did you?" Ebany wondered. She shared the religion her family had for years. For them, there was only one true God. Heket shook her head. She took a sip of her wine glass before she continued. Ebany and Benjy had juice while Rune had water.
"It confused us at first, but then it made sense to us since she was of a different land with different faiths and religions. Kallamar did try to get her to join one of our cults. Even flirted with her after we met her for the first time." Heket grinned at the memory and laughed. "Rose shut him up by holding up her hand, showing off her wedding ring. All but Shamura had a chuckle." She reminisced. Heket shook her head at her brother's past attempts. She had to admit, Rose was very beautiful and could see why Kallamar tried to flirt, but she couldn't help but roll her eyes when he did so.
