Sunday came much sooner than expected. Ebany tried to sleep in the warm covers as long as she could before she woke up completely. Rune didn't want to get out of the warm covers either. The ritual wasn't going to be done early in the morning but still. It had been an eventful week. The fatigue felt from those days didn't entirely go away. Ebay woke up thanks to two things that morning; the need to use the restroom and a familiar scent of her mother's rice pudding. Was her mother there? She was still in the castle from what she could see. Ebany got up to do her business, then get dressed for the day.

Rosa and her siblings had sent her a gift while she was at the Fire Isles. It was an traditional outfit that used to be worn all the time back in the day. Based on what it looked like, her uncle told them of what her preferences were. It was no mystery to anyone that Ebany was very picky about everything, but to her ancestors... Ebany hasn't interacted with them much. She did have a few talks with her greatest of greats uncles though. Ricardo and Helios were pretty cool guys to hang out with. Seriously, they looked so young for their age! If she calculated correctly... They were almost 1000 years old if they weren't already. Ebany wasn't sure but didn't ask since it might have been rude.

Ebany decided to wear the outfit later when it was time. Just as she was about to walk about of her room, a magic letter appeared in her desk. Ebany walked to it and picked it up, seeing that it was from Edan. Ebany opened it up and read what it said. Edan told her that she only need to say when and they would be ready at the appointed time. Narinder was well enough to and the twins would come along to make sure he was alright. The impact from the ritual seemed to be less than when Edan ascended to godhood. It might be due to Narinder becoming a demigod and not a full god anymore. Ebany read the letter a couple times to fully understand everything and not misread a word. Once it was time, she would open the portal for them and they just needed to walk through.

After confirming the details, Ebany went down with Rune and Benjy to breakfast. To their surprise, Merlina was there, having stopped by to make breakfast! She hugged them all and had them sit down. They were not to life a finger. Rune got both pets and a belly rub from her! Merlina had borrowed the recipe from Ebany's mother and had been hard at work making it just the way they liked it. It was a special treat for what was to come. Ebany wondered how Merlina managed to make it so quickly. The rice pudding recipe took several hours to make because of all the steps that it had. Sure, there were other recipes that didn't make as much time, but this one was the one Ebany and her companions liked the most.

Ebany chatted with Merlina until Merlin came in, also surprised that his twin was there! It seemed that she surprised him more often than one might think.

"Sister! I was not expecting you!" Merlin walked to her.

"You never do, brother. It's how I always manage to surprise you." Merlina smiled.

Archimedes flew from Merlin's shoulder to the perch where Arcadia was waiting. The two owls hotted and greeted each other. Ebany watched, wondering if Arcadia was the only one that didn't make Archimedes grumpy.

"Surprise me indeed. Did you come here just to make breakfast?" Merlin asked.

"No, I came because I heard the news. I'll be in attendance as well." Merlina said.

"You will?" He looked at her.

"Yes. Ebany and everyone else will need all the support they can get. Plus, it's practically a once in a lifetime event." Merlina said. She was fond of Ebany and wanted to be there for her. Plus, she wouldn't miss it.
