Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb or the dialogue. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"Hello, young phoenix. Sending letters are we?"
Ebany turned around so quickly that she almost fell from where she was seated, it not before hands caught her. One took her hand and the other steadied her back. The one who had been behind her helped her get up. Ebany looked at them and that it was the Undertaker from the other day when the dissenter was causing trouble.
"You're..." Ebany started to say but stopped when he looked at her.
"I am the Undertaker of the Cult of War. Been in the business for over a millennia now." He let her go. "My apologies for disturbing you, milady. Just wanted to know what you were doing." He said.
Ebany got a better look at the Undertaker. He seemed to be a large stag rather than an elk and had a scar over his left eye, but his eye was left undamaged. They wore the robes she'd seen the other followers wear, but his had a different design, one suiting an Undertaker.
"I sent letters to my friends back home in Noonveil. I haven't told them much of what's happened." Ebany told him. The Undertaker nodded in response.
"Forgive me for prying... I've been wanting to have a conversation with you for some time now... I knew your ancestor long ago." He said, showing his golden skull necklace.
"You did?" Ebany asked, not detecting any lies from this person.
"Aye. She was the kindest and sweetest person anyone would have the honor of meeting. Before I was the Undertaker, she would chat with me when their lordship was busy or had sudden duties to attend to. If it weren't for the differences between the two of you, I'd say you were her." The Undertaker told her.
"So I've been told. What's your name?" Ebany asked.
"I am called Feldoh. And your name is... Bunny?" Feldoh didn't quite catch her name.
"I'm Ebany. Bunny is actually one of my nicknames." Ebany told him.
"That's cute." Feldoh chuckled. "Tell me, how are you liking Silk Cradle?"
"It's not bad, though I don't know what's out there." Ebany said.
"There are many creatures that'd want to kill you, even us who follow Lord Shamura. Right now, they're focusing on the lamb." He said. Ebany tried to maintain neutral expression but it wasn't easy because of her connection to Edan.
"I'll change topics, little phoenix. Can you sing?" Feldoh heard tale that Ebany was close with the lamb, but decided not to pry as it was a sensitive topic for more than one party. Ebany looked up, wondering why he asked.
"I can, why? Do you want me to sing something?" She asked.
"If you'll grant my request, but it's not just for that. I wish to see the magic I once saw long ago, when your ancestor sang. At the time, Rose mentioned that there was a party in her home happening in a few days time from when she visited. Her people requested that she sing the song that had been chosen for a dance." Feldoh refered the time when Rose visited all those years ago and told him about it. Rose wasn't one for parties as she always got shy and quiet at them.
