Two weeks went by before Edan was back on his hooves, officially this time. Kana and Saleos both made sure he was completely recovered before he went on anymore crusades. Edan thanked them for their help and work, along with Ratau for caring for him again. Edan thought that his sick days were through after he got older, but it seems that he would never escape them for good reason. The first time was because he had overworked himself and the second was due to the sádica spider venom.

Edan was happy that he was no longer sick and hoped that he could avoid getting sick again! Seriously, his followers started to lose faith him him! Oh well, nothing a few sermons and sacrifices can't fix! But that was for later. Right now, he ventured into Darkwood for some supplies and to fulfill a few requests for his followers. It was an easier time than he had in Silk Cradle. A few things needed to be done in the Cult so Edan decided to take care of them first before going to face the first acolyte. During his crusades, Edan had acquired a weapon called a blunderbuss. Upon trying it out, he was left in shock at how powerful it was. It was perfect to finish off that darn spider!

On a different day, Edan went to see Ratau and they talked about what happened when he was sick. Ratau explained to him what happened and Edan realized what he saw. He explained to Ratau that as a child, he was sick quite often. As he grew it, the times he was in bed were less and less. That included many doctor visits. Edan thought he was back in his village and that Ratau was his father coming to check on him again. Ratau didn't seem to mind and even told Edan that to him, he was like his son. Edan was surprised to hear it but was happy. They shared a hug after a game of knucklebones which Edan won. After which, Edan left to continue his journey.

Ratau watched as he left. He was happy that Edan was all better and it felt nice... nice to have a family again. Maybe he and his brother could... well, he'll see.

BANG! BLAST!

Edan shot the blunderbuss at the
Sádica spider again and again. It would soon be dead and Edan could advance. The spider tried to attack Edan like it did the first time, but it failed against his new weapon.

Eventually... the spider fell dead.

Edan searched for the egg that would birth a new one but to no avail. Saleos wasn't kidding! They were practically invisible. Oh well, he had a way of how to defend himself from it the next time he encountered it. Edan continued his way through Silk Cradle, cutting down enemies along the way. The first acolyte he faced as Focalor and just like the rest, they were defeated and sent to the Cult to be indoctrinated. It was the next time he entered Silk Cradle that he encountered Shamura once more. Edan was lifted up in Shamura's presence and the Bishop spoke.

"I am not what I once was. Though no longer wise, I am no fool. I know the end draws near. I can take some comfort in confession. The blame hangs heavy 'round my neck. I introduced him to ideas of change; for my domain is knowledge, and it is ever evolving. An organic state of being for myself, but for him… most unnatural. Death cannot flow backward. It was I who had him chained. Forced into subjugation by the four of us. Subjugated as you too soon shall be. Make peace, bow to me, Lamb."

That matched up with what his master told him when he asked and told him about Ebany's letter... If Edan did not bow to any of the other Bishops, then he would now bow to them.
