Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~As they traveled through Silk Cradle, Narinder would fight off the spiders and heretics. He took any hits that were meant for Edan. Ebany fought as well. She didn't want Narinder to have all the fun or take anymore hits. He had enough bruises as it was. Edan laughed at every enemy's demise. Serves them right. At least, he was laughing at the beginning...
"Let me know if you need some healing." Ebany said to him. She was defending with fire and magic, blasting the bad guys left and right.
"Don't push yourself. We don't know what that relic does to you." Narinder continued to fight.
"I'm fine." Ebany said bluntly before blasting another heretic. Unlike Narinder, she didn't manage to kill them. She couldn't bring herself to.
"How's the kid?" Narinder stopped another and blocked a fireball with his back.
"Webber's asleep, Edan's about to cry from seeing you get hurt!" Ebany said. Edan had been laughing at seeing the bad guys get it, but after seeing Narinder get hurt, he wanted to cry. Webber had been placed in the carrier to make it easier for Ebany to fight. Rune was sent into the backpack for safety.
"He'll live. We're almost to the boss." Narinder said.
"Great..." Ebany wasn't thrilled from all the fighting. The spiders were icky! Poor Edan was whimpering and was about to cry any second now.
"You watch the babies. I can handle the boss." Narinder told her.
"You really remind me of my friend J." Ebany said. At that moment, Edan burst out crying... he didn't want Nari to keep getting hurt.
"Crown?" Narinder looked at the Red Crown. The Red Crown added a mobile to try and sooth the baby crown bearer.
"Nu!" Edan pushed it away, babbling a command to the Crown. The Red Crown looked at Ebany and said something to her, ensuring that she would understand what it said.
"I'm still working on portal magic and no, I'm not good at it yet." Ebany picked up the babies. The Red Crown shifted back into a Crown and grabbed Narinder as Edan commanded. Edan had the angriest pouty face that Ebany had seen. Narinder was confused as to what Edan was doing. He didn't act like this last time. Edan was turned into a baby from the spell book Ebany was given by Merlin. This time, it was from a relic.
To make things easier, Ebany read Edan's mind. "He doesn't want you to fight and keep getting hurt. He knows you're protecting us, mostly him, but hates seeing you hurt, especially now that you're mortal. You can fight, be resurrected if you die, sure, but he hates seeing you get hurt. Edan might be a baby physically, but he's retained more of his mind this time than the last." She explained. It seemed there was a difference between this time and the last.
Narinder rolled his eyes. "I literally have 1000 times more fighting experience than all of you combined. This is the fastest way back to the cult." Narinder held his hand out to the Crown. "Scythe." He ordered.
"Nu!" Edan hugged the Crown, stopping it from shifting.
Ebany sighed and took out a few potions bottles. "Edan, I'll give him the potions I make for you, okay? They restore stamina and mess up enemies. He'll have an easier time fighting." She said to her baby brother. Edan knew how well they worked and they could help Narinder... The baby lamb considering it.
"I'm not- mph!" Narinder's mouth was covered by the crown.
"I'm negotiating here!" Ebany looked at him and then back at Edan. "Well? It's either that or I portal us into somewhere way worse. Your choice, bebe hermanito." She stated.
