Five days went by since Ebany arrived in Silk Cradle. She would really only interact with Webber and the occasional follower that brought her food or asked for directions. Webber loved to play with Rune and he with him. He would show Ebany some of the embroidery that his village had made. Shamura had some that they had from long ago. Ebany found them beautiful and loved the soft texture from the threads and fabric.

She received Edan's letter before Shamura returned to the temple after they confronted Edan, well, Cael. So that's what his real name was. It was nice. Apparently, Shamura had made Edan's followers dissent. Ebany wasn't surprised as almost every Bishop did something to Edan's Cult. Leshy was the only one who didn't do anything. Edan or Cael... How would she call him now? If it was in a letter, she would have to use his real name since it may not work otherwise.

Ebany walked through the temple, looking at the stained glass windows. They reminded her of the ones she would see in church. She always liked looking at them because not only were they beautiful and sometimes told a story. As for the ones she saw now, they were depictions of Shamura in some of their victories, some of his siblings, and several other events. The stained glass reflected various colors. She remembered some of the windows of Redwall Abbey, how they depicted the last battle for Noonveil and the God they worshipped and pray to.

She wondered if the abbey brothers and sisters were safe. The Abbey had been under siege before by a group of sea rats, pirates, some time ago. One of the abbey residents, Matthias, had become the Hero of Redwall as he defeated the pirate leader. He and Ebany became friends on her visits to the abbey to make herb and potion deliveries. Matthias is a pure blood mouse beastmen, as were most of the other brothers and sisters of the abbey. They had attended her baptism, holy communion, and confirmation since the church she usually attended back home was a sister church to Redwall Abbey.

What Ebany didn't notice was that Shamura had been approaching that very well. They saw Ebany and stopped walking. They had not had a proper conversation or one at all since they mistook her for Rose. At the moment, Shamura was debating if she was Rose or Ebany... Their thoughts were interrupted when they saw a white object appear and fly at the girl. She looked over and quickly caught, opened it up and read its contents. Who was it from? Was it from the lamb? Were the two communicating?

Ebany read the letter from her family in Noonveil. Her eyes lit up with every word she read. They were winning... Her Clan, the Noonveilian Clans were winning at last. «Gracias a Dios...» she said with relief.

Shamura wondered if they once knew that tongue... It had been some time since they heard it. Ebany looked happy and relieved, perhaps something good? Wait... was that Ebany or Rose...? Shamura still couldn't tell. They watched her a little bit more before they decided to approach her but stopped when she turned away. They were surprised to hear her start to sing...
