Ebany had gradually recovered from The Burning, as well as her sore throat, mostly... Kallamar gave her medicine for that, making sure it wouldn't interfere with the medicine for The Burning. Kallamar inquired about what Ebany had said the other day about her throat. Ebany explained to the Bishop that she could tell when she started to get sick after noticing a pattern a few years back. First her throat would hurt, then she would get sick with a cold. The only exception from the pattern was the Burning. She didn't feel a sore throat until after she had woken up from the delirium. Curious about a theory, Ebany asked Kallamar what the current season was. When Kallamar answered that it was winter, Ebany suspected that might have something to do with the sore throat that stuck around.

Every winter, Ebany would get sick with a cough and her throat would be full of mucus. It happened more often if she was out and about in the winter. Kallamar took that into account and would speak with Benjy about it since he had been with Ebany since infancy. Benjy would tell him what Ebany's parents would do when she got sick. Ebany would be fine, and it was noticable in the next few days. Her health improved and she could now reside in a guest room like she had done in Anura and Darkwood. This one belonged to Rose as well. Kallamar had returned Ebany's laundry to Benjy after the followers were done. Benjy was glad that they were cleaned up with such care. They've had mishaps in the past thanks to learning the hard way of how not to do things.

However, Kallamar left out the part where he was having a new outfit tailored for Ebany. He had discussed it with the tailors and they used Ebany's clothing for size references. As for the accessories, Kallamar asked Benjy about it. Benjy assumed that Kallamar wanted to know because of how fancy things were so he told him about Ebany's preferences as well as comment some of his own, like the white bow with a purple center he always wore. Kallamar learned that it acted like a mark of ownership since Benjy was a familiar. It was all quite interesting because Rose had never had a familiar, but she did tell Kallamar and his siblings about them. Since she spent a lot of time out fighting and busy raising a family, she didn't think of getting a familiar.

As Ebany became well enough to walk and get out bed, she would go on short walks with Benjy and Rune. Ebany couldn't help but admire the beauty of Kallamar's temple and the Bishop soaked up all the praise. Ebany saw what Heket met about Kallamar being the vain one... Ebany returned to her room after a few minutes. Since Kallamar wasn't freaking out as of late, she could only assume that Edan hadn't made any appearances in Anchordeep. Ebany decided to write a letter to Forneus, to tell her that she was okay. She got a piece of magic paper out and sat at the desk in her room to write.

Dear Forneus

I hope you're okay whether you're in Darkwood or the village. I am too, just recovered from being sick actually. If you didn't read the letter I sent to Edan, then I'll tell you the situation. Yes, I'm with the Bishops, specifically in Anchordeep, but I'm okay! No need to worry. My ancestor was their best friend and they still remember and honor her. I had no idea until I contacted my clan leader and uncle about it. He cleared up why I had no idea about the Old Faith. Bad timing stopped him from telling me anything about the matter! And no, no good news from Noonveil I'm afraid...

I miss talking with you and just being there in general! Rune and Benjy miss you too. Benjy keeps the little outfit you made him in perfect condition. If you see Edan, tell him I'm all right and to not worry. I want to write in more details about how things work, but I don't know if anyone's watching so I'm not going to risk it. I was planning to ask you if you could help me to the lands of the Old Faith since you're a traveling merchant and possibly have a route here and there, but hey, look where I am! I hope you're keeping warm since it's winter. Now that I think about it, it's almost been a full year since I left Noonveil. Time flies, doesn't it? Mom sent me a letter updating me on the situation and it's sadly not good. I wrote back to her after she did. I hope to see you and Edan soon!
