Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Webber knocked on the door and waited for his master to answer, but Shamura didn't. Webber knew what that meant... Slowly, he opened the door and looked in. He saw Shamura at his desk, hearing them mutter again and again. Webber motioned Ebany to follow him inside, which she did. Webber closed the door and walked to Shamura. He could hear them muttering the same thing as they were seated in the same chair. Webber patted them on one of their arms to hopefully get their attention.
"Not now, Narinder. I'm busy." Shamura said to Webber. When they were not muttering, they were lost in memories long gone.
"Master, she's here." Webber spoke in spider tongue. He doubted Shamura would react sufficiently enough to see that he was Webber and not Narinder.
"I'm not expecting anyone. If this is another of your pranks-" Shamura stopped as they looked over and saw Ebany, thinking she was, "Rose!" They said, rather surprised.
"Uh, hi?" Ebany said, not sure to play along or not, but if Shamura didn't react when Webber addressed them as 'master', then they may not react to her saying anything either.
"I wasn't expecting your visit." They stood up, tilting their head. "You should have written."
"Well... I didn't exactly have the time to write a letter..." Ebany said. Should I continue or not...? She had no idea... Shamura nodded and looked Webber, still thinking he was Narinder. Webber looked troubled, he didn't want to break the news that Kallamar was dead. He may be a child, but he understood the situation more than one would expect. If Ebany was there, then it meant that Lord Kallamar was dead...
Shamura hummed a bit in thought and looked back at Ebany. "Are you staying long?" They asked.
"... As long as you'll have me. And I have a couple of friends with me." Ebany said, motioning Benjy to fly out of her pocket and for Rune to hop out of her bag.
Shamura blinked in surprise. "Who are these?" They asked.
"My familiar, Benjamin, and my magic wolf pup, Rune. Well, fully grown but prefers to stay a puppy." Ebany said, petting the cub in her arms. All of Webber's eyes lit up as he saw Rune. He didn't say anything but he secretly liked anything fluffy. It reminded him of the one memory he did had of his mother... She was fluffy... at least he thought so. Webber wants to pet the puppy!
"I do not remember them..." Shamura said. Did Rose ever have a pet and familiar...?
Ebany looked at Webber and knew that it was time to try and tell Shamura about what happened. She looked back at the Bishop of War and hoped it would work. "... Rose is my middle name." She said.
"Rose Rose? Strange..." They remarked and didn't get the message.
"I mean that I am not the Rose you knew. My name is Ebany Rose Phoenix. I'm Rose's descendant." Ebany told him, hoping that would work.
"Ebany...?" Shamura mumbled, quite confused.
"Yes..." Ebany placed Rune down. "Ebany, spelled with an 'A' instead of an 'O'. My parents thought it'd be unique." She said. Rune trotted over to Webber who happily started to pet her, making her tail wag. Webber cuddled her to his heart's content. Ebany and Shamura watched them, with them slowly realizing what was going on. Ebany looked at them, noticing a change in their eyes.
"Take her to a room." Shamura said and promptly left, leaving the two alone. Looks like they were back their senses for the time being...
Webber looked up from cuddling Rune and then at Ebany. He got up and walked to her with Rune. "Follow me." He said, doing as his master said and took the three to a room. Webber knew that Shamura hoped that Ebany would come to Silk Cradle, not alone but with Kallamar. He knew that the Bishops had made memorials for the fallen... They were a family after all.
