Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Ebany sent a message to Merlin and Lightwave. There were two magic signatures that made up the portals that were causing trouble. She hoped that her friend and mentor could recognize the one she sent them. Ebany had a hunch of who it belonged to, but she hoped she was wrong. As for the other... she dreaded it even more. It matched someone she hoped would be in jail for the rest of his life like her maternal grandfather was. Lightwave has dealt with Nexus several times and Ebany was there most of the time.
Ebany glanced from them to Ezra. "Are you okay?" She asked them. Seeing Narinder up and walking around must be surreal for them.
"I am fine. I'm more worried about my Cult." Ezra told her.
"Once we get to the Mystic Seller, you'll be home in no time." Ebany said.
Ebany went to answer but received letters in reply. She quickly took them and opened them up. It was after reading them both that she was dismayed. "... Sh*t..." She cursed. Edan snapped his head to look at Ebany. She tried not to curse and hated doing so, but when she did... It meant that things were bad.
"Bad news?" Narinder looked over.
"My hunch was right. One of the culprits behind the portal shenanigans is Nexus... He's a sorcerer from back home and has it out for my mentor and my friend's family. He along with another guy seem to be messing with portals with malicious intent. Merlin is investigating in Noonveil right now." Ebany explained to them.
Nexus had been Merlin's former apprentice and fell onto the dark side long ago. He had been trying to steal Lightwave's family's power for years and trying to make life hard for Merlin.
"That's not good." Ezra stated.
"No. Knowing him, he was probably targeting them both. As for his partner... I'm narrowing down where and who the other signature belongs to... I'm not sure who yet." Ebany explained.
"I wish I could help. But your magic is beyond me." Ezra said.
"It's fine. You've been inconvenienced enough. Besides, this isn't my first time dealing with Nexus. I still have some beef with him from the last time he tried to hurt my friends." Ebany told them. Ezra nodded before they glanced at Narinder again.
"How about we go to the Mystic Seller now?" Edan suggested.
"I thought you wanted me hidden from your flock?" Ezra asked.
"You just need a disguise!" Edan took out a cloak he got from the closet. It was where he kept a spare umbrella in case hee needed another. Ezra only looked confused.
"Or we can teleport. I can do it this time." Ebany spoke up as she summoned her staff.
"Let's try that." Ezra agreed with Ebany. Edan put the cloak away. Oh well.
Ebany nodded to Ezra and held up her staff to teleport them only, instead of glowing red, it glowed purple and opened a portal in the house! Ebany didn't think that would happen and before she closed it, someone fell through and landed on the floor!!
It was a black cat with three eyes...
Ezra's Narinder...
The other cat hit the ground hard. Ezra ran over to him. "Oh my God!!" Ebany exclaimed as she covered her mouth. The portal had closed and disappeared. She never expected to bring Narinder from Ezra's world to there!
