Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb or the game dialogue. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~First it was Amdusias, then it was Valefar, and then Barbatos... All of which were defeated by the lamb. Edan extended his hand to each one and each had taken it, swearing loyalty to his Cult and teachings. It seemed that they would fit right in.
For now.
Edan had rescued a few followers from Helob after paying for their freedom. Some more were saved from sacrificial rituals, and a couple were lost in Darkwood. Needless to say, his Cult was growing. Edan had made his way to Kudaai to get some weapons for the battle with Leshy. Before he had left the Cult to return to Darkwood, he asked the former acolytes if they had heard or seen a girl with wings the color of fire with a wolf and little fairy. The three all said no, but Valefar spoke up.
"It was a few centuries ago... The Bishops had a friend that was not from these lands. They were rumored to have fire colored wings, but they didn't have any pets with them. No one has heard of them since." Valefar told Edan. Edan knew that it couldn't be Ebany. She wasn't even a century old yet and had no knowledge of the Old Faith. Nonetheless, Edan thanked Valefar and left him to his work.
Kudaai supplied Edan with a sword that reminded him of the one Ebany had forged for him. Kudaai was curious about it and asked the lamb about it. Edan told him about his old sword and how it was made. He also told him about Ebany's sword which was not of their lands. As a weapons smith, Kudaai was very intrigued by Edan's tale. He requested to meet Ebany should he ever find her for he wished to learn the method of which her sword was made.
Ebany's sword had been made by her godfather and uncle, Karrus, a dwarf. Karrus had been a family friend for years, specifically, Lume's sworn brother. Ebany's father asked his brother in arms to be Ebany's godfather after she was born. Her aunt, his twin sister, would be her godmother. Karrus was elated and happily accepted. Once Ebany was old enough to train with a sword, he forged her a magnificent blade made with elven and dwarven steel. The sword was enchanted to grow alongside its wielder, that being Ebany. Once she had reached a certain age, the enchantment wore off and Karrus forged her a new blade using the metal from her original sword. Ebany was sad to see her old sword go but was happy to see it reborn into a new blade.
Edan remembered when Ebany told him that story and he gave the gist to Kudaai who became intrigued by it. He only wished that finding Ebany would be as simple as getting weapons... Edan thanked Kudaai and left on his way to the final battle. After he had defeated the acolytes and reported his progress to The One Who Waits, his master had given him the power of mind reading. It helped determine if what he was told about another winged being was true or not. He used it on Valefar to see if he was telling the truth and he was.
Edan had not shared dreams with his sister in arms since that one night when he chose to sleep. He's slept a couple more times but their dreams did not connect. Edan was quite worried about her and wondered if he should ask The One Who Waits about the matter. All in good time though, for now, he had to focus on the coming battle with Leshy. There was also what the fates had told Clauneck... Edan still didn't know what it meant. If Edan learned that the Bishops had done any harm to Ebany... they would be sorry. They already killed Edan's family, but he knew they could not kill Ebany and keep her dead.
"DAMNED LAMB!!!!!"
Leshy shouted angrily. Once again, an acolyte has failed, lost the power infused within them, and now the lamb was coming to him! What else could go wrong?!
