The seconds it took to get everyone to the emergency room felt like minutes. And the minutes it took to stabilise them felt like hours.
But the thoughts that muffled through their minds and tried to muffle their surroundings would have buried themselves for days if not weeks. At least that's what Adrian tried to tell himself.
Rani, Nadja and Vassili, meanwhile, had tried to keep their minds off it all, but even they had to admit that the sights and sounds that swirled around them were like drinking poison.
Especially Rani.
After several hours, while Adrian had been reporting to the doctors, Rani had stood motionless under the window, gazing into the hospital courtyard.
"Prl Wang." Vassili interrupted quietly, appearing behind the girl.
Rani quietly turns around and Vassili looks at her with a thoughtful expression and says: "I'm planning to go back to the manor. Perhaps you would come with me. Please?"
Rani presses her lips together reluctantly and gazes at the pearls of tears glistening in her eyes: "How dare you!" pulls herself upright again, then asks even louder: "How dare you ask me such a thing!" rejoices the old woman. Vassili sighs faintly and says: "You also have the option of refusing."
Rani lowers her hands to her sides and says: "I must...I must...forgive me." And runs down the corridor, crying.

Nadja nods quietly and says: "I'm going to invite Rani to join us. It's the least I can do."
When Nadja finally finds Rani, she says: "Rani.."
Akita turns to the girl and watches as Nadja quietly approaches her and finally takes a seat next to her: "Vassili didn't mean to offend you in any way..."
"Where were you?" Akita asks quietly as she looks at Nadja and bosses her: "I didn't see you there. I didn't see you there."
Nadja presses her lips together and says: "Akita. I don't mean this as an insult, but... I'm not a fighter fighting on the front lines. I'm more of a sideline assassin. Or well, I try to be."
