Athenodora quickly turned towards Y/N and grabbed her by her hands and held them up while giving a gleeful expression. "You must come to the gardens with me! You are bored and I am searching for a friend to enjoy them with." She said in an excited tone. "Yea, sure I'll come with you." Y/N replied. What else was she going to do in this dark and drury place.
"Hold on, should we wait till dusk?" Y/N questioned. "Why would we wait that late? can't enjoy the flowers when you cannot see their beauty." Athenodora proclaimed. "Well, you would..." Y/N was pondering at this point. Trying to find a delicate and light word for 'die' and or 'fry' by the sun. "Well, you would get hurt in this sun." Y/N answered.
"Oh.. I see. That is one difference between us and the northern covens. We can indulge ourselves in the day. We shimmer in the light however; it is cloudy out today." Anthenodora confirmed. Y/N did not know this. She assumed all vampire species were the same. In the north where she originated, every vampire had to shield themselves from the light.
After a few turns and running down the corridors.
Both Athenodora and Y/N made their way to the gardens. In the heart of a verdant sanctuary, where blossoms danced in vibrant hues and the air whispered secrets of nature's artistry, The flowers in their prime, and their fragrances permeates the air like a celestial symphony.
Athenodora whispered in a radiant smile. "Welcome, dear Y/N, this place does have beauty within" she said. "Let us embark on a delightful promenade through these humble gardens." she said in a light feathery laughter.
Together, they strolled along winding paths adorned with an array of botanical wonders. Roses of crimson, blush, and ivory bloomed in profusion, their petals unfurling like delicate lace. Jasmine twined around trellises, its star-shaped blooms releasing an intoxicating fragrance that filled the air.
"Athenodora," Y/N exclaimed, "your gardens are simply exquisite. The colors, the scents...it's like walking through a living masterpiece."
Athenodora's face lit up with pride. "Thank you, my dear. However, it is not me you should be thanking for this beauty. It is Aro who prides himself in his garden. He delicately picks the species that grow here."
Y/N was shocked by this statement. There was no way someone like Aro with those crimson dark eyes that the portrait portrayed could possibly be gentle with flowers. Especially finding interest in humanitarian activities.
They continued their walk, marveling at the vibrant geraniums, the stately lilies, and the whimsical pansies that dotted the landscape. The sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the gardens, transforming them into an ethereal realm.
Y/N stopped along the path as they were finishing their stroll and noticed an enticing flower. "What kind of flower is this?" she questioned Athenodora while her fingers delicately touched the flowers' petal.
"e un'orchidea" (it is an orchid) the voice plainly stated in a foreign tongue. It was not Athenodora that proclaimed an answer. It was someone else. Someone who just appeared on their path. It was Aro.
Y/N pulled her fingers away from the flower sharply and turned around as if she been caught. Athenodora directing her attention to Aro as well. "It is an Orchid" Aro replied to this time in English. "a diverse and widespread group of flowering plants with blooms that are often colorful and fragrant" Aro continued as he crossed his hands behind his back and strode a few steps closer to the women."I will leave you two, I need to meet with Jane this evening." Athenodora stated as she smiled towards Y/N and headed back inside.
"They are surely beautiful" Y/N complimented as she placed her eyes on the ground to avoid contact with his crimson eyes. "Thank you, however, I do not know what is invading their beds." Aro implied while nodding his head towards the orchid. Below the beautiful orchid was a group of green leafy plants. Y/N looked towards the direction he nodded in and looked that the plants below the orchid. "Actually, that looks like Rosemary." Y/N implied while she bent down and grasped a clipping.
Aro narrowed his eyes at Y/N implying he wanted an explanation. "See, this is a Rosemary plant growing under your Orchids. You should keep these and transplant them for herbal use." Y/N explained engulfed in exhilaration.
Aro could see the excitement in her tone and lightened his wide crimson eyes towards her hands which held the clippings.
her hands
"Extraordinary" is all he said as he placed a sinister grin upon his features. She could see his gleam, the uneasy, unsettling grin that sent shivers down your spine. She felt like a specimen he could not wait to dissect in that moment.
Y/N noticed that she was too engulfed in the clipping in her hand and swiftly dropped them off her hands. As if she been caught red handed. but she purposely dropped them to end his sinister enjoyment, that made her uncomfortable. "That is if you are in use of these plants." Y/N said as she lifted her gaze to his crimsons.
"I unfortunately do not gander in certain varieties. We do not delve in mortal medicines, as they are not required." Aro replied with wide eyes looking into her own. Aro then took a step forward and grabbed her hands smoothly.
Y/N knew he was trying to glimpse into her thoughts. Like a fox sneaking into the chickens coop. So, she decided to block his entrance into her mind palace by building a mental wall to block him out. Even though she could not use her magic, she could still control her magical mind internally. She suddenly noticed Aro's gleam slowly fade as his eyes shifted slightly back and forth in search and thought.
Then with a snap, his eyes stared straight into hers, as if they were a window to her mind and soul. If eyes could pierce. "Since we are here, I want you to dine with me tonight." Aro said as he folded her hands into his then gently let go. His cold porcelain touch replaced by her own warm soft hands.
"Do I have to attend?" Y/N replied questionably. "If you savor food." Aro stated in a tone that indicated she should do as he requested. "Then I shall be there." Y/N bobbed her head as she strode past him to head back to her chambers.
Aro could feel his fangs appear as he caught the scent of Y/N when she strode past him. How her scent could drive any vampire thirsty and dead at the same time. She was different from any mortal he delved into. Then again, he thirsted on all mortals he ever encountered. Aro was intrigued by her unforeseen knowledge of herbal and medicinal plants. He has never met a useful and intelligible mortal.
Then again, witches knew how to brew, and they were dangerous. But this witch was rare and she was worth tomes.
