Y/N writhed in the bed, ensnared in a nightmare that gnawed at her very soul. She found herself trapped within the cold, unforgiving walls of Viktor's coven, her body and mind bent to his cruel will.
As a slaved witch, she was subjected to endless torment. Viktor's icy gaze pierced her like a thousand daggers, his voice a venomous whisper that chilled her to the bone. She was forced to perform vile rituals, her magic twisted and exploited for his nefarious purposes.
In her unpleasant dream, she felt the weight of chains upon her wrists, the sting of lashes across her back. Her screams echoed through the desolate halls but were met with nothing but cruel laughter. Despair gnawed at her as she realized the futility of her struggle.
Suddenly, a cold hand reached out to her, gentle yet firm. A voice as soft as velvet whispered her name, breaking through the suffocating darkness.
"Y/N, wake up."
Her eyes snapped open, her heart pounding in her chest. She found herself still in Aro's bed, bathed in the soft bedding. Standing over her was Aro, his crimson eyes filled with concern.
"You were having a nightmare," he said, his voice soothing. "It's over now."
Relief washed over her as she realized that the horrors of her dream were merely an echo of the past. Aro's presence filled her with a sense of safety and comfort.
"Thank you," she whispered. "I forgot I was here."
Aro smiled gently. "I have been watching over you. I know that the memories of Viktor's coven still haunt you as you said they do."
He sat down beside her, taking her hand in his. "But you are free now, Y/N. You are under Volturi protection."
As she listened to Aro's soothing words, the terrors of the night slowly receded. The warmth of his chilling hands and the sound of his voice calmed her troubled mind.
In that moment, she realized that even in the darkest of her dreams, there was always hope. If Aro was by her side, she would never truly be alone. While Aro held her hands he studied them with his crimsons. "When was the last time you were allowed to embrace your magic?" he questioned. His voice held curiosity. Again, he viewed her as a rare relic in his collections.
"I... I haven't used my magic since I was a child," she whispered.
Aro's eyes widened, and a faint smile played upon his lips. "Ah, but why, my dear? Such a gift should be cherished and honed. What led to these confinements barricading your true potential."
"I... disobeyed Viktor. I disobeyed him just as my ancestors have. He confined my magic when he had no use of me" she admitted. "Afraid of what I could do without him near me."
Aro leaned forward, his eyes sparkling with an unholy fascination. "Control is an illusion, my dear. Magic, true magic is about embracing the untamed and unpredictable. It is about surrendering to the power within. Viktor was afraid of you. that is why he confined your powers. You are more powerful than him, and he knew this."
Y/N felt a surge of both fear and exhilaration at his words. She had always known there was more to her magic than she had ever dared to imagine.
"But... I have hurt people" she stated "I have used my magic as Viktor's tool in hideous dealings."
Aro's smile grew wider. "That is the nature of power, my dear. It can be used for good or for evil. It is up to the wielder to choose their path."
Y/N considered Aro's words. She had always feared the consequences of using her magic, only because Viktor made her feel it was a curse more than a gift. but now she began to see that it was a choice she could not avoid.
"tomorrow, we shall have these removed" Aro stated as his hands grazed over the confinements loosely fitted around her wrists.Y/N only nodded at his words.
Aro's eyes flashed with delight. "Excellent. tomorrow, together, we will unlock the true potential of your magic and free your wrists of these.... confinements." His words were a tint snarly at the last word."'I will let you sleep in the embrace of eternal night." Aro whispered as he stood from where he sat. That is when Y/N quickly reached up her hand and grabbed his. This shocked Aro as his gaze quickly moved from the grip she behold on him, slowly moving up to her eyes to meet her gaze.
"Please, don't leave." Y/N said in what sounded like a light panic.
"You will survive in these chambers, now rest." he whispered back in a slight grin and slowly placed her hand down. "I will be in the trials if you have need of me. I will send Jane for you at first light."
Y/N nodded and watched as he made his way to his chamber door and left with the sound of the door closed.
Y/N could not fathom the feeling of solitude she embraced when around Aro. Yes, he is still a monster. But when she is with him, he is just a man.
Little did Y/N know, Aro was not on his way to the Volturi trials. It was still nighttime and the sun would not rise for another three hours. Aro did not tell her the truth of his sudden absence. He could not inform her that he was ill.
Aro been ill for a century now. He has been receiving frequent visits from an old friend for various checkups and tests. No one in Volturi knew of this, they could not learn of this. If the Volturi scented him ill, they could force him to step down from his position.
Aro continued his path down the corridors, when he finally reached his destination. Inside was a pale, blonde, piercing golden eyed man. He was now in the Volturi library. This was the safest location for their conspicuous meeting.
No one else entered these ancient rooms. Only Aro dabbled in the embrace of numerous literature and ancient tomes. This is where he would get his answers tonight.
