Carlisle was making his way down the corridor when he saw Jane walking in his direction, "Jane, nice to see you" Carlisle smiled. "You too doctor Cullen" Jane replied as she stopped her tracks and was standing near Carlisle. "Have you seen Y/N?" he asked. "Yes, we just got back. I last seen her in the lounge" Jane stated plainly. "Thank you" Carlisle last stated. Jane then continued her way down the corridor. More than likely on her way to find Felix or Dimitri.

There he found Y/N in the Volturi lounge. She had a weathered leather-bound book, with her eyes tracing each word with an intense focus. The flickering flames of the grand fireplace casting a warm glow upon her features, accentuating the delicate curve of her cheek and the way her lips pursed in concentration. Dr. Cullen approached quietly, not wanting to startle her from whatever world she had escaped to within the pages.

"Y/N," he greeted softly, causing her to look up with a startle. Her eyes widened in surprise at his presence before a small smile graced her lips.

"Dr. Cullen, you startled me," she said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear nervously.

"I didn't mean to interrupt," he replied, taking a seat in the armchair across from her. "I just wanted to check in and see how you were doing."

Y/N's smile softened at his concern, her eyes meeting his with gratitude. "I appreciate that, truly. It's been quite an adjustment being here, but I am doing fine".

"can I take a look at your wrists?" Carlisle gestured to her hands. Y/N then laid her book beside her, placing it face down so she could save the page she was on. She then held out her wrists and flipped them over for Carlisle to see.

"They're looking good, I see the bruising has practically gone away" Carlisle looked up at Y/N and smiled

"They're looking good, I see the bruising has practically gone away" Carlisle looked up at Y/N and smiled. "Now, have you tried your magic yet?" he asked. "I have actually, it seems a little off" Y/N stated with a nervous voice. Carlisle heard the nervousness in her voice. "Don't worry, it can take time to gain your magically strength, give it time" he placed his hand on top of hers. "Show me" he gestured to the vase sitting on the side table near them.

"show you?" she questioned with narrowed eyes. "You want me to try my magic?" she continued. "Yes, try moving that vase" he indicated back to the vase near them.

Y/N slightly turned herself to face the vase and placed both her hands out toward it. She closed her eyes and concentrated. Carlisle could see the concentration on her features. He could tell it was a forceful try. The vase shook a bit, but it did not move. "That's good enough" Carlisle spoke up. This made Y/N suddenly place her hands down to her sides and open her eyes. Only to see that the vase did not move.

Carlisle could tell this upset her

Carlisle could tell this upset her. The disappointment was written all over her face. "Like I said, give it time" Carlisle spoke softly.  "I want you to practice twice a day, start small and nothing to vigorous, I will be returning " Carlisle added as he got up from the arm chair.

"You're coming back to check on Aro?" Y/N questioned as she also stood from her seat. "Yes" he confirmed. "How is he doing?" she asked. Carlisle noticed her fidgeting with her hands. "He is doing a bit better, I think what ever you been giving him has been helping" he continued with a smile. "However, it won't get better" he continued. "I'll keep giving him herbal medicines" Y/N stated as she took her seat back where she came from. "Good, I'll see you in a few" Carlisle said as he left Y/N to herself in the lounge.

Carlisle knew Y/N's magic would come back. Of course she could use her magic, but it was not to its fullest. The full power of her magic had not been wielded for years. Only small portions and spurts of her power been used. Of course the northern coven was scared to allow her full access. She was their tool, only to be used to their convenience. But, he knew it would all come flowing back Y/N sooner or later. However, how much power she possesses concerns him. If Viktor from the north was scared of her and he been desperate for her return, there was something special about this witch. Why would he only keep her around. These thoughts were distracting Carlisle as he was making his way out of Volturi. He needed to head home and he knew he would be returning to check on Aro and Y/N again soon.
