Within the opulent walls of the Volturi fortress, where shadows danced and ancient secrets whispered, Y/N stood before Athenodora. Days had passed since the council meeting. Now she was in the Athenodora and Caius's chamber. Caius was absent, he was helping Aro decide for Jane, Dimitri and Felix as they would be leaving with the elves in the morning.

Y/N stood with her heart pounding with trepidation. She had kept her pregnancy a closely guarded secret, but the time had come to confide in her trusted friend.

"Athenodora," Y/N began, her voice trembling slightly, "I need to tell you something... something that cannot be told to anyone else."

Athenodora's piercing gaze softened with concern. "Of course, my dear. You can tell me anything."

Y/N took a deep breath and revealed her secret: "I'm with child, apparently"

A gasp escaped Athenodora's lips. "Oh, Y/N! That's wonderful news, how did you find out"

But Y/N's expression turned grim. "It's not as simple as it seems. Aro cannot know about this. Arwen the elven told me.

Athenodora's brow furrowed. "Elves always know" she placed a hand on Y/N's. She was trying to be comforting. "Why can you not tell him, he is your mate, I'm sure Aro would be thrilled."

"Because he will not allow it," Y/N explained. "It is against ancient law"

Athenodora's eyes filled with understanding. "I know what you mean. Aro has a certain way of..." she did not finish her sentence.

"Exactly," Y/N said. "I need your help to keep this hidden from him. I know it will be difficult, but I am desperate." Y/N spoke as she squeezed Athenodora's hand.

Athenodora nodded solemnly. Yet, she was in grief from not informing Aro. She worried for Y/N and Aro's relationship, understanding the gravity of the situation.

"What will you do when you reach full term? You can't possibly hide your stomach from his, you will grow. Along with that being if he doesn't delve into your mind before then" Athenodora questioned her. Y/N did not comprehend all that was to come. She completely forgot about Aro delving into her mind. Something that they grew to enjoy together.

"I'll figure it out" Y/N said. "Please be careful and know what you are doing" Athenodora gave a knowing glance.

Together they conversed in their usual weekly conversations and made plans for the Volterra festival. Especially the list of responsibilities Aro left Y/N. Though, that is what she wanted and Aro needed help with mortal responsibilities.

After much needed acquaintance with her friend, Y/N made her way to the library. She needed the solitude to calm her mind. There was much too much coursing through her.

Y/N entered the library. It was empty and smelled of ancient leather. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Finding solitude in the silence.

While Y/N was finding her grounding. Aro was in the trial room with Caius, Marcus and the three Volturi whom were to leave in the morning. They have made arrangements with Elrond; they were going to investigate the corpses and scent the area. They needed to get to the bottom of the situation. Both species needed answers. A coven needed to be brought to trial, and Aro was going to make sure of it.

Aro kept sipping the tea Y/N made for him every morning. However, there was something different about its mixture today. Aro couldn't place a finger on it. But it was enticing to his fangs.

The conversations ended with everyone departing. Only Caius, Marcus and Aro were in the hall. "I don't believe any southern coven would dare harm an elf" Caius spoke. Speaking his own thoughts on the matter. "I am certain we will find out" Aro spoke. He continued sipping the tea. Marcus refrained from speaking. He was happily sitting with his blood-wine per usual. "What do you think, Marcus" Aro questioned with enthusiasm. " I think nothing" Marcus spoke. His attention on the goblet he was holding.

Aro only eyed Marcus with a warning glance. He knew Marcus too well. He was acting like a child. All because he received a rightful punishment. They continued their private discussion on the matter. They even discussed a few upcoming trials. That is when Aro noticed something about himself. He felt different and familiar at the same time. Something was not right. His senses enhanced and his fangs began digging their own way out. Aro quickly stood up and looked to Caius.

"What do you see?" Aro abruptly asked. He seemed a bit panicked. "Aro! your eyes changed" Caius spoke. Aro understood what Caius was implying. They knew their eyes went ink black for thirst of blood. However, they had scheduled feedings, and this was not natural. Aro sensed it. Marcus merely stayed in his seat. Half-awake and half drunken on blood-wine slouched over. "Quick, Caius, the keys" Aro yelled. Caius knew what he was asking for. They knew the drill with each other. Aro was turning. He could not control it. He did not know why this was happening. Of course, he could feed whenever he wanted to. But this, this had a mind of its own.

Aro's nails clawed his own skin as he made a fist. Caius quickly pulled the keys from under his cloak and walked with Aro swiftly out of the hall and down the corridor. There they made their way down the dungeon stairs. As Caius walked Aro down. it became more and more difficult to find his footing. Aro's instinct were guiding him. The Aro that once roamed his own body, was now being controlled by the vampire. Like a disease, it was spreading fast.

"Here" Aro spoke with a hard gasp for air. Soon, Aro would not be comprehendible. Aro walked into the stoned cell and closed the barred cell behind him. Caius quickly locked the door. "Caius" Aro spoke. "Make sure she is away from me" Aro told Caius. Caius understood the assignment. He nodded his head and left Aro in the dark cell.

Aro, consumed by an insatiable thirst, had succumbed to his primal instincts and turned. He was in his prime and he wanted to thirst on everyone. Mortal or immortal, his fangs wanted to sink into them all. A rouge vampire is a dangerous thing. A rouge vampire could wipe out an entire city. It could last for hours, days or months. He knew he had to be confined. He needed to stay away from everyone. For their own protection.

This was not the first time a vampire gone rouge. Vampires used to be consumed by primal instincts once every few years. Especially if they have not been feedings. Though, this was a strange coincidence. The Volturi always fed at certain times. Thus helping them stay clear of going rouge themselves. However, Aro was now a rouge vampire. At the very moment, no one within Volturi are safe.
