Y/N was running for what felt like days, maybe even a week. Y/N's hair was starting to fall out of its messy bun on top of her head, Y/N had dirt carved onto her skin, from her fingers to the smear she left on top of her forehead. Her brown leather combat boots were causing her feet to ache. Thus, making her realize how truly long she must have been traveling to escape the inevitable wrath she was breaking loose from. Let alone how hungry she was starting to feel. With such little sleep, she undoubtedly felt the fatigue closing in on her. Little by little.

However, no matter what she felt, she could not stop now. She needed to leave the Hungary and Romanian vicinity before the Death Dealers caught up on her tracks. Suddenly an exhaustion like never before grabbed hold of her. Y/N felt tired, hungry and weak. Not any kind of weakness, but a weakness one would feel as they were a child suddenly losing control of their 'awake habits' and falling asleep.

Suddenly Y/N heard moving water. Y/N began to follow the sound in hopes of finding a peaceful and safe surrounding. Y/N could hear the ambience of the water as she followed the sound curiously. To her astonishment there was a flowing stream. Y/N quickly ran down the small hill. Avoiding all the tree roots sticking out as possible. She was relieved to feel the water stream around her ankles and lower calf. Y/N did not think too much about taking her boots off. She was too exhausted to care at this point. She formed her hands like a bowl and cupped water over her face as she muttered words of 'thanks' to the sky.

Y/N sluggishly walked over to the patchy ground on the outskirts of the stream. She felt her body just give out beneath her as if gravity became stronger in that instant. She sat down and leaned back on her arms. Hesitantly she waited and listened to her surroundings. Knowing that she was in no position to escape if anyone caught her as she was now. As she looked around for a while she looked down at her tunic and noticed the tear along the side. "Just great! something else I need to fix! I must've torn it from those thorns when crawling... " Y/N said exasperated.

Suddenly, there was brushing sounds coming from the woods on the other side of the stream

Suddenly, there was brushing sounds coming from the woods on the other side of the stream. Y/N got caught in her thoughts if she should get up and run or give up and stay in place. Contemplating if she stayed still no one could see her. Everything was going fast compared to her procrastinating thoughts.

From the corner of Y/N's eye she noticed a fallen over tree trunk that was overgrown by various plants. Slowly she crouched and proceeded to hide in the small opening that was left under the fallen tree. Because of the small hill that proceeded to the stream, it left just enough room for her body. She brought her knees up to her chest and hugged her arms around her knees. She silently got startled when she saw the shoes of the two individuals that walked over and were standing just near where she was hiding. Y/N suddenly held her breath, in hopes that they could not hear nor smell her presence. Y/N kept reciting in her mind please leave, please leave please leave.

As she tightened her grip around her legs, she noticed Anthemis Cotula, also known as Chamomile or Mayweed growing among the wild and exotic plants around where she was hiding. Y/N only knew this since she used this plant in her tinctures and gardening to attract bees for pollination during the gardening months.

Quickly and in stealth, Y/N reached and acquired a small portion of the flowering plant within her nook and began quickly rubbing it onto her skin. Y/N was hoping this would help her scent blend with the overgrown nature they were currently in. Leaving the two intruders just next to the fallen tree trunk in loss of her scent.

Y/N was lucky the vampires despised her scent. Since she was a witch, her blood was different from mortals and immortals alike. This making her blood tainted to vampires. Yet, leaving a different and very distinct scent of 'her kind'. Since Y/N was now the last of her kind, or somewhat one of the last of her species. This left her scent to be very distinct. Leading everyone and everything to her.

Shockingly out of nowhere one of the individuals outside her little nook of safety started screaming. This was not a scream or yell of a victim. Rather a yell of a stressed, angry and tiresome individual. Goose bumps crawled up Y/N's arms and legs. Making her more nervous than anything. This leading to a conversation that guaranteed they haven't found her location...yet.

*Angry yell/scream* "Why can we not locate her! she is just one weak mortal woman! How is it none of the Death Dealers can locate her!? We locate and kill werewolves for bloody sakes" Y/N heard this man's voice before. Usually when she was serving blood wine in the dining hall, she would hear this man's voice next to Viktor's. However, Y/N was a visual individual. No matter how recognizable his voice might seem, she could only know who he is by seeing his face. Of course, she was not going to try and find out.

What the hell Kraven! If she was around here, you just gave her a head start!" another Death Dealer responded. This time it was a woman's voice. "I'm sorry Selene I'm not Viktor's favorite little Death Dealer like you are, If you could do any better, why haven't you found her yourself?! or are you trying to help her and root for your women kind?!" Kraven responded with a harsh-sounding tone. The was utter silence between Kraven and Selene. Either they were silently listening/searching for Y/N or one of them was silently conjuring a come back to the last comment.

After a moment of silence, Selene parted her lips and calmly spoke to Kraven. "I am not going to waste any more time arguing with someone who clearly does not want to move on from their own jealousy. Also, I am not helping anyone. Man or woman alike. But that does not change the fact that I do not blame her for escaping. Y/N has been a servant and slave to Viktor for more than seven years. He punished her whenever he got the chance. Viktor mutilated and sent her people to be executed. We all know it was more than their unfaithfulness to the coven that led them to their own graves, so why not just let her run. Make Viktor clean up his own mess."

"Fine...she gets a head start. I can't promise tomorrow after meeting with Viktor" Kraven gave a grieving look towards Selene as they silently turned around and left back where they came from. Y/N stayed in her hiding place for a while. Just in case another Death Dealer was nearby. However, deep down Y/N knew she wasn't moving because she was afraid of making the wrong choice. The wrong choice to move too soon and be caught. The wrong choice to move, be caught then tortured for her misbehavior. Y/N was scared thinking about her impending death by Viktor's hands. This causing Y/N to stay motionless. Until she felt her eyes becoming heavy, then silently she fell asleep. Safe and asleep in her hidden nook.
