Y/N entered the grand library where she was told Athenodora was waiting for her. The smell of leather-bound books embraced her as soon as she entered the threshold. Down one of the shelf aisles she found her friend.

Together, they spent the rest of the day in each other's company. They spent their time in the library, strolled through the picturesque Volturi gardens, where vibrant flowers painted the air with their sweet fragrance. As they walked, they shared funny stories of their lives, catching up on the events that had transpired when Y/N entered the trial room.

Athenodora spoke of her interests in the art of healing, her fascination with the medicinal properties of herbs, and her aspirations to become a renowned vampire physician. Y/N, in turn, started teaching her the art of natural medicine and showed her the plants that were useful for medicinal use in the garden.

Y/N felt like there was a set of eyes watching her.

That is when Y/N remembered to grab a few plants from the garden to make Aro tea as she promised Carlisle. Though she was not sure how to approach Aro with the idea. She already had a hint that he may not be pleased to take medicine of any form. But he was a vampire and more than likely he would scent what she was giving him.

"Do you think Aro will drink tea?" Y/N asked Athenodora.

"Why do you ask? Aro drinks blood tea when in the trails" Athenodora asked.

"I promised the physician that I would try to get Aro to drink tea for his health" Y/N confirmed. "I just don't know how to approach it" she added when a questioning pause.

"Well, keeping it a secret would not be a good way to go about it, and I do hope whatever he needs your medicine for is helpful" Athenodora stated.

"I'm not entirely sure..but, I'm hoping this will buy time for Carlisle to figure out a cure" Y/N features carried worry.

"Everything will be ok; it all works out in its own way." Athenodora reassured Y/N. "Now, it is getting late, and I been told by Aro you must be in his chambers before dark" she added with a mischievous smirk.

"Dora!" Y/N said with a gasp of laughter towards Athenodora's statement. "Nothing been going on" she reassured as a blush rose across her face.

"Come on, you're his mate" Athenodora stated. But she noticed Y/N's features not changed and realized that Y/N was not joking.

I understand that you may find it hard to believe. but Aro and I have never been 'romantically' involved," Y/N turned her head from Athenodoras direction. For some reason, saying those words out loud made her wince slightly. Her emotions taking a strange turn at the fact her and Aro never done anything more.

Y/N still had trembling feelings at what happened up north. But, after years of healing from her internal wounds. She felt ready to live again. Aro gave her feelings she never felt before and she wanted to embrace all of it.

Y/N felt like there was a set of eyes watching her.

"I see, I thought once Aro found his 'mate' that he would let his guard dawn" Athenodora stated.

Y/N looked back at her friend and smiled. "It's ok, I just assumed when he asked me to stay in his chambers that he wanted more"

"Aro is from a different time" Athenodora started

Y/N listened intently as Athenodora spoke, her words painting a vivid picture of Aro's old-world manners and charm. She couldn't help but feel a mix of frustration and admiration for Aro. Despite his undeniable allure and the deep connection, they shared, Y/N understood now why Aro had been holding back.

As Athenodora finished her explanation, Y/N's mind raced with thoughts of Aro and their future complicated relationship. She knew that she would have to be patient if she wanted Aro under her dress.

"Do you possibly know.... if Aro ever shared a bed with another...before?" Y/N asked cautiously but was deeply curious. "I know about Sulpicia... but did they ever..." Y/N hinted to what she truly meant.

Athenodora's eyes widened in shock at Y/N's question. She hesitated for a moment, considering her words carefully. "Yes," she finally responded, her voice barely above a whisper. "There was a time long ago when Aro... he did things he's not proud of. He lived a different life before he became the leader we know today."

"He was a man whore?" Y/N question in astonishment.

Athenodora paused and she released a small giggle. "Yes, if that is what you call it"

Y/N felt a mixture of surprise and sadness wash over her. She had never imagined Aro could have such a dark and wild past. But as she looked into Athenodora's eyes, she saw a glimmer of understanding and compassion.

"He has changed since then," Athenodora continued softly. "He is not defined by his past, but by who he is now. Aro may have once been a whore, but he is also a powerful leader and a kind soul, and I believe he is truly mated to you" she confirmed comfortingly.

"Do you think he will ever want to bed me?" Y/N asked

"Yes Y/N," Athenodora replied with a knowing smile, his heart belongs to you. He may not show it in the same way others do, but his love for you is unwavering and true." Y/N felt a warm sensation of relief wash over her as she listened to Athenodora's reassuring words. She had always wondered about Aro's feelings towards her, yes, she knew they were mated, and he confirmed his love for her. but she still held a portion of uncertainty. now, with Athenodora's confirmation, she felt a newfound sense of confidence in their relationship.

With a grateful nod to her friend, Y/N made her way indoors and towards Aro's chambers, eager to see him and bask in the love that she now knew was waiting for her there. Their love may be different. but it is theirs. Their own genuine love.
