The crisp parchment, bearing an unfamiliar wax seal, landed at Lucian's feet, a stark contrast to the cacophony of growls and shouts erupting around him. Lucian, stood amidst a maelstrom of fur and fury, his normally stoic face etched with frustration. His clan, a volatile mix of lycanthropes, were engaged in a brawl that threatened to tear the very fabric of their society apart.

The air hung thick with the scent of sweat, fear, and the raw, animalistic energy that pulsed through his skin. Muscles rippled under tanned skin as they grappled, snarls and guttural barks filling the clearing. Jane, stood beside him, her obsidian eyes reflecting the chaos with a quiet contentment. She knew, as he did, that this was a necessary storm, a brutal reminder of the beast that dwelled within them.

Lucian's patience, stretched thin by the incessant bickering and the threat of a full-blown pack war, finally snapped. He roared, his voice a thunderclap that cut through the clan, "WE ARE NOT ANIMALS!"

The sudden shift in the atmosphere was palpable. The fighting, momentarily paused, turned towards him. The sheer force of his command, the raw power that emanated from him, held them captive. Lucian, his hair that fell to his shoulders, strode into the fray, his movements as fluid as a panther's. He separated the brawlers with practiced ease, his eyes blazing with a mixture of anger and disappointment.

"We are Lycan's," he continued, his voice a low growl, "We are warriors, protectors, leaders. We are not bound by the primal instincts that drive lesser creatures. We are civilized, we are strong, and we will not descend into savagery!"

The tension remained thick, the air crackling with unspoken resentments and simmering rivalries. But, slowly, the growls subsided, replaced by nervous coughs and averted gazes. Lucian, his heart heavy with the weight of responsibility, gestured to the letter at his feet.

"A message has arrived," he said, his voice regaining its usual calm.

Jane recognized the wax seal. "it is from Rivendell" she stated plainly. Lucian only narrowed his eyes. He did not know of Rivendell. Never heard of it.

Lucian quickly opened the letter. his eyes scanning every letter. Suddenly, a low growl escaped his lips.

Jane, ever perceptive, noticed the flicker of pain in his eyes. This letter, this news, was a reminder of a past he desperately tried to bury. A past filled with betrayal and loss, a past that threatened to unravel the peace he had painstakingly built for his people.

But, her and Lucian arrived to his clan in hoped to build an army. To help Volturi. But this, this was something far deeper.

Lucian, his gaze swept over his pack, a complex mix of emotions swirling within him. He knew that this letter, this news, would change everything. The fragile peace of his clan was about to face its greatest test yet. And he, the Alpha, would have to face it, not as a beast, but as a leader, a man burdened with the fate of his people.

"There has been a change of plans" Lucian shouted over his clan. Jane watched with fascinated eyes. "We will not be waiting, we will be heading for Volturi in the morning!" Lucian demanded. No one made a noise. Every lycan nodded in understand as they backed away and went along with their duties. As if it were a silent order to start packing.

Jane parted her lips, ready to ask the question. however, Lucian interrupted and answered. "It was Aro. he says Y/N was taken by the north and the elven armies along with what is left of is votluri will be marching to Volterra in a few days" he spoke. Jane could see the darkness enveloping his eyes. She understood. Lucian just lost his dear friend from the north and he would have to relive the terror he once escaped from.

"Now go, I will be speaking to Raze" he declared. Lucian was never gentle with words, especially with Jane. She understood that he did not like her, nor did he like vampires in general.

So she left. Wondering to wherever she felt suited.

Raze watched the interaction between the two. his eyes steadying as he watched Jane leave quietly.
